A system and method for tracking the identity and position of an object. The system includes at least one locator unit that is attached to the object to be tracked. The system also includes at least one display unit carried by or with a user. The locator unit obtains its satellite position data from a satellite positioning system such as GPS, GLONASS, LORAN, GALILEO, or the like. The locator unit then measures local position data with one or more sensors such as accelerometers and compasses and augments the satellite position data with the local position data. The locator unit transmits the augmented position data to a display unit. The display unit calculates its own position in the same way and outputs the augmented position of the locator unit relative to the augmented position of the display unit via a user interface.

The housing second portion may contain a second light source and a second depth sensor. The housing may include a battery, orientation switch, CPU, and charging coil. After the housing is cast, the orientation switch completes a circuit that automatically energizes the downward-facing light source (whether first or second). The corresponding downward-facing depth sensor (whether first or second) generates water depth data. The CPU may actuate the upward-facing light source to indicate the water depth data and may actuate the charging coil's transmission of this data to the receiver unit. The housing rotates when a hook is struck, flashing the downward-facing light source. Inducing current in the charging coil may recharge the battery.

The axial bore at the end surface is for ejecting a plasma stream. The axial bore may include a plurality of grooves formed substantially along the longitudinal axis of the throat region. The cross-sectional shape of the axial bore may alternatively be defined by a plurality of overlapping substantially circular lobes. The plasma stream has a flow that is lineated before the plasma stream is ejected from the axial bore. The plasma stream has an overall particle pattern angle of less than about 50° after the plasma stream exits the axial bore.
