    摘要: A device for conveying, lifting and rotating containers (521; 522; 523), (510) are conveyed in lying position past a detector (515) in order to inspect characteristic data regarding the containers, and means (124; 538) which, on the basis of such data, determines how the containers are to be handled. Along a first and a second longitudinal side (510'; 510") of the conveyor (510) there are provided respectively a first and a second rotatable roll (511, 512), wherein the rolls can be made to rotate with the aid of respective first and second roll driving motors (513, 514) about their longitudinal axis in the same direction of rotation. On co-ordinated movement, the rolls are moveable in the horizontal and optionally the vertical direction relative to the conveyor, whereby the rolls are displaceable to a first position wherein the lie substantially laterally outward relative to the container transport path of the conveyor (510), a second position wherein they are located above the conveyor and displaced towards each so as to be spaced apart at a distance (d) which is smaller than the width of the conveyor, and a third position wherein the rolls are spaced apart at a third distance which is smaller than or equal to said second distance. The detector (515) is a bar code reader located at a distance above the conveyor (510). The rolls (511, 512) are arranged to lift the container up from the conveyor and rotate the container about its longitudinal axis, so that a bar code can be read by the bar code reader (515).

    摘要: A fruit collector for hillside orchards, which includes a channel spaced chute formed of inflated tubes, the two sides of the chute being joined by a cross web having a series of fruit receiving openings approximately the spacing between rows of trees, the chute being laid downhill between sloping rows of trees. In a first embodiment, the openings are formed by U-shaped slits to receive fruit, and retarding flaps extend into the chute to retard movement of the fruit. In a second embodiment, the cross web is tubular, but non-inflated, and receives a series of longitudinally extensible and retractable ribbons protruding from the upper margins of the openings and extending into the chute between the openings; the strips serve to retard movement of the fruit and may be in axially overlapping relation, and adjustable to change their retarding effect thereby to compensate for different degrees of slope. In a third embodiment, which may be incorporated with the first or second embodiments, selected inflated tubes may vary between a small area and a large area to retard the fruit by creating lateral movement of the fruit. A further embodiment having a cross section similar to any of the other embodiments, is arranged in a zig-zag pattern causing the fruit to move laterally in alternate directions so as to restrict the rate of movement of the fruit, thereby permitting use on a steeper slope.

    摘要: An apparatus for decelerating descending bodies includes a tubular arrangement vertically disposed or steeply inclined secured at its upper-end to an elevated location. The bodies to be transported are guided down through the tube which retards their movement. Within the wall of the tubular arrangement there is at least one extensible chamber filled with pressurized fluid and having associated with it pressure regulating means, which chamber serves to apply a retarding force to a descending body. The walls of the tubular arrangement are flexible and include a sleeve whereof the wall is non-extensible in the longitudinal and/or axial direction.

    摘要: Disclosed is an apparatus to detect misaligned clay tiles in the chute of a tile-laying machine and realign any tiles incorrectly aligned. The apparatus is capable of being retrofitted onto existing tile-laying machinery as well as being incorporated into improved future designs.     摘要: A method and apparatus for conveying workpieces under the influence of gravity from an upper vertical level to a lower vertical level wherein the workpieces have exposed critical, e.g., machined, surfaces which must be protected from contact from other workpieces and from the conveying apparatus itself. A first track has a plurality of rolling separators mounted therein and a second track, adjacent and parallel to the first track is provided to support the workpieces by contacting non-critical portions thereof. The separators have projections which extend into the path of those workpieces in the second track. The separators are interposed between the workpieces, and the projections on the separators maintain the workpieces in a spaced-apart relationship and advance the workpieces along the second track. At the bottom of the second track, only the workpieces are discharged from the conveying apparatus and the separators are recirculated to the upper vertical level of the apparatus for reuse.
