    摘要： Disclosed is an improved stacking apparatus of the type including a vacuum conveyor for moving individual successive sheets e.g., glass sheets, along a confined path from a first position to a second position e.g., a stacking station and facilities for successively releasing the sheets from the conveyor to move along a trajectory path toward the second position. The improvement includes (1) facilities for applying an interleaver material to a surface of the sheets as they are moved along the path; (2) facilities operating on the releasing facilities to release the individual sheets from the conveyor at a preselected position along the path; (3) facilities for removing foreign particles e.g., glass chips, from the stacking station; and (4) facilities for aligning the individual sheets at the stacking station.

The apparatus employs a long cylinder the piston of which is connected by a cable to a carriage to move the carriage in and out of the press. The carriage is equipped with a device for grasping the edge portion of a fresh sheet and pull it into the press. The carriage is also equipped with mechanism for picking up and moving the molded sheet from the press as the carriage is retracted.

    摘要： A conveyor designed for piling sheets or similar articles which comprises an elongate rail-like frame which is supported at its end on opposite sides of a piling area, the frame having mounted therein a vacuum box with a relatively flat belt supported for travel on spaced pulleys so that the lower run of the belt advances along the open bottom face of the vacuum box, the belt having normally closed apertures and the frame having means for opening the apertures, as the forward edge of a sheet is fed into engagement with the bottom surface of the belt, so as to hold the sheet on the belt by suction for advance to the piling area where the suction is discontinued and the sheet dropped onto a pile.

The apparatus includes spaced-apart movable bars positioned on opposite sides of the conveyor, which bars, when signaled into action as a result of a sheet being sensed as being properly positioned in the apparatus, move downwardly and toward one another at oblique angles against the top of opposite sides of the sheet. With such action, the bars, through engaging and pushing down on the sheet, release it from the conveyor, and then follow its fall a sufficient distance to prevent undesirable sailing as the sheet approaches an underlying stack, or other support.

    摘要： Apparatus for sorting and stacking veneer sheets comprising a vacuum infeed conveyor transporting individual sheets of veneer width-wise to a position above a scissors lift table whereupon parallel-motion knockdown arms are actuated to force the sheet loose from the vacuum conveyor and down onto the top of a pile forming on the lift. Squaring of the pile of sheets into a uniform stack is accomplished by the knockdown arms which move the forward lateral edge of the sheet up against a fixed stop acting in conjunction with a pair of actuatable even-ender pusher arms which align the longitudinal edges of the sheet. When a predetermined pile height is reached, as determined by the downward indexing of the scissors lift, the completed pile is discharged from the apparatus by an outfeed conveyor. While the pile is being discharged a pair of accumulator members are moved into position beneath the knockdown arms so as to temporarily support and retain the initial several sheets of a new pile as the scissors lift is discharged and recycled to the position where it is ready to receive the new pile in formation. A modification of the apparatus provides one or more additional bin locations adjacent the first bin location to receive and segregate the veneer sheets into stacks according to size or other criterion.
