    摘要: An internally insulated rigid exhaust system conduit and method for making the same are provided. The conduit includes an outer rigid tube, a generally flexible inner portion positioned within the outer tube and an insulation layer positioned therebetween. The conduit may include one or more bends or curves. Due to the flexibility of the inner portion and insulation, a gap defined between the inner portion and outer tube may be generally uniform in width even after the bending of the outer tube. During the manufacturing process, the inner portion is wrapped with a blanket or sleeve of insulation material to form a wrapped subassembly and then inserted into the outer tube. The insertion of the wrapped subassembly may occur either before or after a bending of the outer tube. The insulation may also be blown into the gap defined between the inner portion and outer tube.

    摘要: A one-piece shaped aluminum or stainless steel half fitting for an insulated pipe. The method may include cutting a predetermined sized blank from material stock. A top and a corresponding bottom die may be installed into a press along with a matching press plate. The predetermined sized blank may then be inserted onto the press plate and aligned with locating marks on the press plate. Once the blank is installed properly into the press, the method may further include cooperatively bringing the top and bottom dies together to press the blank into a specifically shaped half fitting. When pressed, excess flange material may be created along the perimeter of the fitting shape and excess end portion material is created at end portions of the fitting shape. The top die may then be separated from said bottom die and the shaped half fitting may then be removed from the press. The method may further include trimming the excess flange material and excess end portion material from the shaped half fitting.

Each segment includes first and second edges adapted to be fastened to corresponding second and first edges of adjacent segments. The segments are fastened together and shaped so that they form a curving contour between outside edges and inside edges of the segments. The outside edges of the segments together form an outside seam and the inside edges of the segments together form an inside seam. Two outside seams of two half elbows can be joined together along with two inside seams of the two half elbows to entirely surround and cover a bend.

    摘要: A unique protective cover system for hot water pipes and other pipe installations and which relies upon a plurality of jackets capable of being disposed about the pipes. In one embodiment of the invention, there is provided an under-sink heat protective cover system having a first J-shaped jacket to cover a J-shaped pipe arrangement or J-trap and a portion of straight pipe cover to cover the waste arm pipe in an under-sink pipe installation. Moreover, a unique coupling mechanism in the mating jackets allows one jacket to be fitted and tightly connected with the other jacket. Each of the jackets are slit longitudinally so that they can be spread apart at the slit and fitted on the pipes of the installation. A unique locking system is provided to retentively and tightly hold each jacket around a pipe section. Moreover, in another embodiment, fiber fastening strips are located adjacent the opposed edges of the slit for quickly releasably locking together with two edges of the jacket adjacent the slit.

    摘要: An insulated conduit composed of an inner structural tubing with each length or bend of said tubing having a bell socket at one end with a matching spigot joint at the other end, and so arranged that one is enabled to assemble comparitively long continuous lengths of the insulated conduit. Resting blocks are placed at appropriate position and distances within the inner structural tubing whereby energy carrying piping may be inserted within the inner structural tubing and rest upon said blocks. The energy carrying piping is protected from loss of heat energy by the insulative value of the ambient air within the inner structural tubing and also by the inclusion of inert air spaces located between a series of structural ribs which form a support between the inner structural tubing and an outer insulation jacket.The outer insulation jacket having annular tongue and groove matching configurations at the ends combined with a system of wire anchors which are incorporated for making easily formed joints being moisture resistant and thus protecting the inner energy carrying piping from corrosion and heat loss. The use of a binding material such as wire is employed to hold continuous lengths of the insulated conduit together during installation.
