摘要： A tray for selectably heating or cooling the contents of the tray comprises a container body having a material chamber for containing said contents. The tray is specifically configured to heat of cool solid, semi-solid or viscous materials. The container body is generally flat wherein the width of the container body is greater than its height. The container body has a first compartment for housing a thermic module and a second compartment for containing the contents to be heated or cooled. Within the thermic module, an internal exothermic (or, alternatively, endothermic) chemical reaction is initiated to heat (or cool) the contents when a user actuates the thermic module. The thermic module comprises two reactant chambers separated by a breakable barrier, an actuator, and a piercing member movable between a retracted position and an extended position in response to a force placed on a portion of the actuator. A distal end of the piercing member breaks said breakable barrier when the piercing member is forced into the extended position to allow mixing of the reactants in the two reactant chambers.

摘要： A rotary food server for storing food in a chilled condition includes a dish rotatably mounted on a stationary base and having central and peripheral pockets for removably receiving food storage trays having removable lids. Coolant housings containing a chilled-retaining substance are refrigerator prior to use and then placed beneath and at the sides of the trays to chill food stored in the trays. In an alternative embodiment, a lower housing rotatably mounted on a stationary base has a cavity therein filled with a cooling medium such as a mixture of ice and water. Mounting of an upper housing on the lower housing causes cavities formed in the upper housing to displace the cooling medium to the sides as well as the bottoms thereof to chill food stored within the cavities.

The table includes a body having a substantially rectangular shaped and planar base surface, a plurality of elevated and interconnecting sides defining a basin therebetween and which is capable of holding a volume of ice particulates. A plurality of first, second, third and fourth associated edge locations of the body and are capable of being pivoted between a first locking position and a second unlocking position in which the legs may be pivoted to a folded position against the body. A plurality of elongated dividers are arranged in upwardly extending fashion from the planar base surface, each of the dividers terminating in an upwardly facing surface capable of supporting the items at locations above the planar base surface. Wherein the elevating members maintain the items at an elevation above a water level created within the basin and upon the base surface, the water level resulting from melting of the ice particulates.

The refrigeration tube and glycol medium act together in order to maintain the pan at a low temperature for a prolonged period of time and to provide an even cooling of the pan. In a second embodiment, the refrigeration tube may be surrounded by the glycol medium. In a further embodiment, the system may be used to heat food rather than to cool food by using a heat pump alone or in combination with electric heating elements. In yet another embodiment, the glycol medium may surround only the sides or only the bottom of the pan.
