Abstract:
A color image forming apparatus forms a color image on a recording medium by using a toner including a binding resin, a coloring agent and infrared ray absorbent, and a light source for causing the toner to melt. The light source has a plurality of light emission peaks having wavelengths of &lgr;1, &lgr;2, &lgr;3, . . . , &lgr;n in a range of 500 nm through 3000 nm. Setting is made such that the following relationship is satisfied: |&lgr;1−&Lgr;1
Abstract:
It is an object of the present invention to provide a dispersing agent for a pigment capable of finely dispersing a pigment in a dispersion medium. The present invention provides a dispersing agent for a pigment comprising at least a metallic compound having a specific structure with a central metal capable of taking a penta-coordinated structure, and n-electron-donating compound having affinity for the dispersion medium and capable of being coordinated with the central metal of the metallic compound.
Abstract:
A dispersing agent for a pigment, comprising a specific compound having a structure wherein a phthalocyanine type molecular skeleton which is adsorptive on the pigment and an oligomer unit or polymer unit which prevents re-agglomeration of the pigment to bring out the effect of dispersion are covalently bonded, and having affinity for a medium or a solvent. Also disclosed are a pigment-dispersion composition containing the dispersing agent, a toner prepared using a pigment having been treated with the dispersing agent, and a process for producing such a toner.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a new polymorphic pigmentary form of phthalocyanines, the preparation therof by salt-milling a phthalocyanine crude in the presence of a water-soluble neutral organic liquid, and some uses thereof. These phthalocyanines are stable &bgr;-like mixed-phase (the &agr; phase being totally absent) and have excellent pigmentary properties, which makes them suitable for example as pigments for electrophotographic toners. wherein M is two hydrogens or monovalent metals, a bivalent metal, or a bivalent oxometal, hydroxymetal or halogenometal moiety, with the proviso that the metal is not copper, and each X independently from all others is hydrogen or halogen.
Abstract:
A combination of toners containing a cyan toner, a magenta toner, a yellow toner, a violet toner, and a black toner, each toner containing resin and pigment. The pigment for each of the colored toners, which excludes black, can be prepared by flushing a wet pigment cake with a toner resin and removing water to generate a pigmented resin.
Abstract:
This invention relates to pigment compositions comprising an organic pigment treated with about 0.1 to about 20% by weight, based on the organic pigment, of an N-heteroarylamidomethyl pigment derivative having the formula (I) ##STR1## wherein, Q represents an organic pigment moiety, NHet represents a nitrogen-containing heteroaromatic group attached at a ring nitrogen atom to the carbonyl function of the amidomethyl linking group, and n is from 1 to 4.
Abstract:
Compounds of formulaA(B).sub.x, (I),whereinx is an integer from 1 to 4,A is the radical of a chromophore of the quinacridone, anthraquinone, perylene, indigo, quinophthalone, isoindolinone, isoindoline, dioxazine, phthalocyanine or azo series, which radical contains x N-atoms attached to B, preferably with at least one directly adjacent or conjugated carbonyl group,B is a group of formula ##STR1## and, if x is 2, 3 or 4, may also be one, two or three hydrogen atoms. The symbols Q, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, X, Y, Z, m and n, are as defined in claim 1. These carbamate group-containing soluble chromophores am distinguished by outstanding solid state fluorescence in the UV range as well as the by ease with which they can be converted to the corresponding pigments in the substrate in which they are incorporated.
