Abstract:
A remote determines an acknowledgement is not received for a command transmitted to a first device, broadcasts a discovery message, receives a response from a second device that received the discovery message and a proximity signal from the remote, and configures itself to control the second device. The remote may also transmit an acknowledgement to the second device. The second device may notify the first device. In various implementations, configuration information in the response may include pairing information and the remote may unpair itself from the first device and pair with the second device. In some implementations, the remote may include a table for controlling devices and the remote may utilize an entry in the table for the second device instead of the first device. In various implementations, the remote may receive responses to the discovery message from multiple devices and may select one to configure itself to control.
Abstract:
A power control unit and method of use thereof for varying the supply of electricity to an electrical apparatus using a peer-to-peer wireless communications link between a controller and the power control unit. The communications link may be established using Wi-Fi Direct or Bluetooth communications technology.
Abstract:
An operation terminal 1 is configured so as to transmit, as a control command, an individual control command transmitted individually to a specific control device 2 of control devices 2, or a collective control command broadcasted collectively to two or more control devices 2 of control devices 2. Control terminal 2 comprises: a command determination unit 2d determining whether received control command is individual control command or collective control command; and an information processing unit 2b which, if received control command is individual control command, responds by collectively broadcasting to a plurality of operation terminals a state change notification corresponding to execution of individual control command, and, if received control command is collective control command, responds by collectively broadcasting to operation terminals 1, with a timing different from the other control terminals 2, a state change notification corresponding to execution of collective control command.
Abstract:
Provided are a remote control system and method for controlling portable terminals. The remote control system includes a control terminal which is a portable terminal that performs a remote control operation, a target terminal which is a portable terminal that is subject to the remote control operation performed by the control terminal, and a remote control management server which determines whether the control terminal and the target terminal are heterogeneous, and if the two terminals are heterogeneous, converts messages respectively transmitted from the control terminal and the target terminal to a format conforming to corresponding receiving terminals.
Abstract:
The present invention is concerned with a security system. The system may comprise at least a first handheld device, a second handheld device, a first secure entity, and a second secure entity. The first handheld device and the first secure entity are electronically pre-registered with each other, the first handheld device and the second secure entity are electronically pre-registered with each other, the second handheld device and the first secure entity are electronically pre-registered with each other, and the second handheld device and the second secure entity are electronically pre-registered with each other, with pre-registration of each respective handheld device and secure entity pair establishing a unique channel for the respective handheld device and secure entity pair.
Abstract:
To provide an electronic apparatus that can, in operating the electronic apparatus using a remote control (and especially, a touch remote controller), identify the content of operation by adding an interpretation on the basis of rules held outside the remote control instead of uniquely identifying the content of operation by a transmission signal from the remote control. Provided is an electronic apparatus which has display output means, means for acquiring gesture information acquiring gesture information indicating a user's finger action, etc. from the remote control, means for acquiring apparatus status information for distinguishing apparatus status by a combination of a plurality of operations allowed for the user; means for storing interpretation information for interpreting, based on apparatus status information, that the acquired gesture information is an instruction corresponding to one of the specific operations allowed for the user; means for acquiring an apparatus operation instruction from the acquired gesture information and the acquired apparatus status information by using the interpretation information; and means for executing the acquired apparatus operation instruction.
Abstract:
A personal user control device suitable for use in cooperation with information systems, such as vehicle information systems, and methods for manufacturing and using same. The personal user control device provides a user-friendly interface system for interacting with the information system. Unlike conventional control devices, the user interface system includes no dedicated buttons and provides a customizable environment for interacting with the information system. When in communication with the information system, the personal user control device can automatically detect system status information, such as available system functionality, available viewing content, and/or a current system operation mode, of the information system and provides a user interface system that instinctively adapts for use with the information system in light of the detected system status information. The personal user control device thereby provides a versatile and intuitive manner for interacting with the information system.
Abstract:
When a controlled device receives a change command from a control device, the controlled device changes a real current memory, generates a change notification that includes first data indicative of the control device having transmitted the change command and second data indicative of the change result in response to the change command, and transmits the generated change notification to the plurality of control devices. Each control device receives a change notification from the controlled devices, changes a virtual current memory based on the second data of the change notification if the first data of the change notification does not indicate the control device. Each control device does not change the virtual current based on the second data included in the change notification if the first data indicates the control device.
