Abstract: A plasma display panel includes a first substrate and a second substrate provided opposing one another with a predetermined gap therebetween, a plurality of barrier ribs mounted in the gap between the first and second substrates to define a plurality of discharge cells, a plurality of phosphor layers respectively formed in the discharge cells, a plurality of display electrodes formed on the first substrate along a first direction, and a plurality of address electrodes formed between the first and second substrates along a second direction, which intersects the first direction. The address electrodes are positioned closer to the first substrate than to the second substrate.

Abstract: A plasma display panel has a stable addressing characteristic, no dielectric breakdown, and high reliability. Data electrodes (10), first dielectric layer (17) for covering the data electrodes (10), priming electrodes (15), and second dielectric layer (18) for covering the priming electrodes (15) are sequentially formed on back substrate (2). Slotted parts (10a) are formed in a part of each data electrode (10). Thus, data electrodes (10) are prevented from deforming during the manufacturing, and dielectric voltage between data electrodes (10) and priming electrodes (15) is improved.

Abstract: A plasma display panel including first and second substrates facing one another with a gap therebetween, address electrodes formed on the first substrate along a first direction, barrier ribs mounted in the gap and defining a plurality of discharge cells, first and second electrodes formed on the second substrate along a second direction, which is substantially perpendicular to the first direction, and third electrodes extending along the second direction between pairs of the first and second electrodes. Abstract: A plasma display panel (PDP) is made of front panel (2) and rear panel (10). The front panel includes display electrodes (6), dielectric layer (8), and protective layer (8) that are formed on glass substrate (3). The rear panel includes address electrodes (12), barrier ribs (14), and phosphor layers (15) that are formed on rear glass substrate (11). The front panel and the rear panel are faced with each other, and the peripheries thereof are sealed to form discharge space (16) therebetween. Primary dielectric layer (13) is provided to cover address electrodes (12), and barrier ribs (14) are formed on primary dielectric layer (13). Abstract: A plasma display panel includes first and second substrates located opposite to each other. Barrier ribs partition a space between the substrates into a plurality of discharge cells. Address electrodes are formed with a first portion extending along a first direction on the first substrate and a plurality of protruding portions projecting from the first portion into the discharge cells in a direction substantially perpendicular to the first substrate. Pairs of display electrodes extend in a second direction crossing the first direction. The discharge cells may be polygonal or cylindrical and the display electrodes may form rings around a corresponding discharge cell between the substrates. The protruding portions are bars projecting into the discharge cells such that a gap between two display electrodes of a discharge cell is larger than a gap between the display electrodes and the protruding portion of the address electrodes.

Abstract: A full color three electrode surface discharge type plasma display device that has fine image elements and is large and has a bright display. The three primary color luminescent areas are arranged in the extending direction of the display electrode pairs in a successive manner and an image element is composed by the three unit luminescent areas defined by these three luminescent areas and address electrodes intersecting these three luminescent areas. Further, phosphors are coated not only on a substrate but also on the side walls of the barriers and on address electrodes. The manufacturing processes and operation methods of the above constructions are also disclosed.
