    摘要: An IP-telephony system including one or more nodes coupled to a session controller. Each node includes a service gateway coupled to one or more terminals. A first terminal conveys a start page request initiating a page activity between itself and one or more terminating terminals. The session controller receives the start page request and in response, conveys first control signals to one or more service gateways, each first control signal containing information identifying which of the terminals associated with a service gateway is a terminating terminal. In response to the first control signal, each service gateway conveys second control signals to its associated terminating terminals. The first terminal conveys a media packet to the first service gateway during a page activity. The first service gateway forwards the media packet to one or more designated terminating terminals.

According to one embodiment, a calling party uses a Caller ID Messaging Device that supplants the incoming calling line identification (ICLID) signal with a Caller ID Messaging Signal and transmits the Caller ID Messaging Signal to a destination communications address. An alternate embodiment provides that the calling party may use a conventional telephone to access a communications network, activate Caller ID Messaging Services, compose or retrieve a stored Caller ID Message of the Caller ID Messaging Signal, and transmit the Caller ID Messaging Signal to the destination communications address. The releasing unit is further configured to send data corresponding to the releasable items and the activities of the items via a network and/or telephone line. In one embodiment, the system comprises at least one telephone zone controller and at least one telephone zone paging speaker splitter or addressable paging splitter. Specifically, telephone zone controller acts as a controlling authority for the routing and playback of audio in selectable zones. In cooperation with the telephone zone controller, the telephone zone paging speaker splitter is an addressable device that is capable of splitting an audio signal in different manners, e.g., in Class A mode or in Class B mode. The present system provides addressable functions that are not found in existing supervised paging, messaging background music and emergency voice evacuation system.

    摘要: In a system for remotely controlling the supply of electric power to customer premises, each customer premises is fitted with a power-switching arrangement coupled to a paging receiver (5-1, 5-2, 5-3). A utility company supplying the electric power can input requests to a server (1), optionally via a terminal (2) or a network link (3). A software application running on the server generates a control instruction in response to a request and sends it to a paging service (4) for transmission over a paging network. When a paging message is received at one of said customer-premises paging receivers, if the control instruction is appropriately addressed the power-switching arrangement will put it into effect, for example to connect or reconnect the customer premises power supply.

The received data is stored according to the received ID code. A light intensity changing circuit may change an intensity of the first optical signal. Moreover, it is judged whether it is possible to communicate with another of the pager from the received data; and the judging result is informed the user.
