Abstract:
In a network having an initiator, a server, and an input/output (I/O) device remote from the initiator, the initiator transmits to the server a request containing the network location of data to be retrieved from an input device, such as a video camera, fax, or scanner, or output by an output device, such as a printer. Output requests are placed in a queue and scheduled for completion. When an output device is ready, the server retrieves the data from a network storage location different from the queue and transmits the data to the printer or output device for action. When an input device is ready, the server retrieves the data from the input device and transmits it to a network location based on the request. The server can also provide the initiator with status information about the request and the input or output device.
Abstract:
Printing architecture for direct printing of an imaged document in a print controller. Document image data is generated representative of document information of an input document. A conversion module is called to format the document image data into a second data, which second data includes the document information of the input document. The second data is enqueued for output, and output as an output document at the highest output speed of the print controller.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of transmitting facsimile over a mobile communication device, capable of fast and effectively sending facsimile by wireless facsimile services, comprising the steps of: defining a data structure to set up a transmission format; editing a facsimile content to conform to the transmission format; verifying the GPRS authentication to start the communication service for data transmission; waiting to receive the response for successful transmission after the data have been transmitted, so as to confirm the completion of the operations, and finally disconnecting the GPRS service.
Abstract:
With a digital camera 100, a photographed image 31 is displayed on a liquid crystal display and the user selects a desired image and specifies print specifications of the number of print sheets, a print paper size, a print color mode, etc., then print image data is prepared. The prepared print image data is transmitted from the digital camera 100 to a color printer of an output unit. An image is printed at the color printer in accordance with the print image data.

Abstract:
The present invention provides methods and systems for steganographically encoding a file which is in a page description language (PDL) such as PostScript. Aspects of the present invention can be used to: i) encode a PDL file and generate an encoded PDL file; and ii) provide an “interpreter” which generates raster images from a PDL file. Portions of the raster images can be steganographically encoded. Encoded raster images can be printed or the raster images can be combined into a new PDL file.
Abstract:
A printing system includes a support arrangement. A print cartridge receiving arrangement is mounted on the support arrangement to engage a print cartridge. A drive mechanism delivers print media from the print cartridge. A print engine is mounted on the support arrangement downstream of the print cartridge and has a pair of opposed printhead assemblies that are configured to perform double-sided printing on print media fed from the print cartridge between the printhead assemblies. A slitter is mounted on the support arrangement downstream of the print engine and is configured to separate the print media into sheets.
Abstract:
Fax and modem connections are usually treated in the same way as voice connections by the network nodes during connection setup. By using the disabling tone, fax modems having integrated echo compensation deactivate echo compensators which are provided on the network side. Packet-switched transport networks are generally unable to transmit this tone perfectly. In order to regain the full functionality of a circuit-switched network, a media gateway is proposed which contains a tone disabler, a tone generator and an additional tone disabler, which allow an echo compensator to be controlled in the direction of the packet network and allow both an echo compensator to be controlled in the direction of the circuit-switched network and the disabling tone to be reproduced in the direction of the circuit-switched network.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a print job control system in which image-forming apparatus and computers are coupled each other through a network. The print job control system includes an image-forming apparatus, which includes an image reading section to generate first image data by optically scanning a document and conducting an optoelectronic converting operation, a first memory to store the first image data, header data corresponding to a property of the first image data, and job data corresponding to a property of an image-forming job including the first image data generated from a plurality of pages of the document, an image-forming section to form images based on the first image data stored the first memory, and a first network interface to bilaterally transmit the first image data between the first memory and a network of the network system; and a computer, which includes a second network interface, a second memory, and a control section to control an operation for storing data, received through the second network interface, in the second memory; wherein the control section creates a directory corresponding to the first image data, the header data and the job data in the second memory, and stores a job management file created based on the header data and the job data, each of which corresponds to the image-forming job, and second image data generated by converting the first image data, corresponding to the image-forming job, in the directory.
Abstract:
A camera is provided with a photographing element for converting photoelectrically image information of a object into electrical signals and for outputting first image data; first image processor for converting the first image data into second image data in first format; second image processor for converting third image data in second format different from the first format into fourth image data in third format different from the first format and the second format; and third image processor for converting the first image data into fifth image data in the third format.
