    摘要: A multiple primary color display device includes a plurality of pixels located in a matrix including a plurality of rows and columns. The pixels are each formed of at least four sub pixels for displaying different primary colors, which can be sorted into n number of virtual pixels, and use each of the n number of virtual pixels as a minimum color display unit for providing display. The sub pixels which form each of the virtual pixels include a sub pixel common to another of the virtual pixels. When a line having a width corresponding to the n number of virtual pixels is displayed, two sub pixels which are located at both of two ends, in a width direction, of the line and display a certain identical primary color to each other have a luminance lower than the original luminance that the two sub pixels.

    摘要: A method for color correcting an input color image having input color values adapted for display on a reference display device having a plurality of input color primaries to account to provide reduced observer metemaric failure on a narrow-band display device. A metamerism correction transform is applied to the input color image to determine an output color image having output color values in an output color space appropriate for display on the narrow-band display device. The metamerism correction transform modifies colorimetry associated with the input colors to provide output color values such that an average observer metameric failure is reduced for a distribution of target observers, and is formed responsive to a distribution of perceived color differences for a set of input colors that are determined for a set of target observers.

    摘要: A method of color processing determines whether a pixel color is within at least one range of predetermined colors corresponding to a viewer expected color. If so, the method altering the pixel color to better approximate the viewer expected color. For detection of skin tones determining whether the pixel color is within a range of predetermined colors includes discounting an illuminant of the pixel color. The viewer expected colors are preferably skin tone, grass green and sky blue. The saturation level of grass green and sky blue are enhanced and that of skin tones are suppressed. The saturation s is limited based upon lightness J and hue h to convert to an allowable RGB color format range.

    摘要: A method for viewing a simulated light output generated for a first display on a second display includes a variety of steps. First, the simulated light output is generated based on qualities of the first display. Next, the simulated light output is compensated for color differences, temporal differences, luminance differences including gamma difference, and differences in viewing environment between the first and the second display, in real-time. Then, the simulated light output that has been compensated for the differences and for viewing environment is output for the second display.
