The sidewalls cooperate with the apex to form a symmetrical channellike member, the shape of which permits two or more connectors to be assembled in a stack in snap-in and snapoff relationship by axial sliding engagement of the contact flanges with longitudinal cam surfaces formed on the walls and the exertion of force compatible with the thickness of the material from which the connector is formed.

    摘要： The invention concerns an electrical connector assembly comprising a housing of flexible insulating material and having a number of transverse passageways, each of which retains a connector element by complementary engagement of shoulders formed in the passageway walls and the element. Each element is stamped from sheet metal and has a contact element, e.g., a terminal post, to which connections can be made, and a socket formed by wall portions one of which is held fixed and the other of which is movable in the passaGeway. The socket receives a lead from a modulat pack, and the lead may be retained in the socket by wedging a nonconductive rod member in a recess between the contact element and the movable wall portion. The assembly is easy to make, compact, versatile and resistant to vibration.

    摘要： Electrical connectors of the insertion type are made out of sheet or coil stock and, in the simplest versions of all of the various embodiments thereof, are each formed into a U-shape so as to have at least two parallel extending and substantially planar leg portions and an integral intermediate planar portion. A peculiar T-shaped protuberance is formed in each leg portion of the connector, and functions not only as a fastening detail for a spade-tip terminal, but also as a locking detail when the legs of the connector are inserted within appropriately aligned apertures of an associated support member. The intermediate planar portion is preferably die-worked to form any one of a number of fastening details therein, such as a die-formed single thread opening, a solder lug or a T-shaped spade-tip terminal receiving protuberance.
