摘要: A system, method, and apparatus are provided for estimating a flux of fugitive gas emissions. The method is performed using a gas analyzer coupled to a sampling wand, where gas enters the inlet tip of the sampling wand prior to being sampled by the gas analyzer. The sampling wand is fixed to a mobile device that includes an inertial measurement unit. Location information from the inertial measurement unit is used to compile a high resolution geo-spatial map of gas concentration levels across a cross-sectional area of a gas plume. A near-field Gaussian plume inversion calculation is then performed to estimate the flux based on the gas concentration data and the location information.

摘要: A pressure difference generating apparatus includes a first pipe, a second pipe and a third pipe. The first pipe have a first inlet. The second pipe disposed inside of the first pipe has a conical inlet runner, a conical outlet runner and a neck portion between the conical inlet runner and outlet runner. The third pipe has a third conical outlet portion extending into the conical inlet runner. A first fluid and a second fluid flow into the first pipe and the third pipe separately in different flow rates. A negative pressure generated between the third conical outlet portion and the conical inlet runner allows at least part of the first fluid to flow into the conical inlet runner, then the neck portion, then the conical outlet runner, and finally out of the second pipe with the second fluid.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to pipeline corrosion inhibitor optimization and control. In an example, a failure probability representative of a likelihood of a pipeline corrosion failure and a consequence level representative of a consequence from the pipeline corrosion failure can be computed. A risk matrix can be generated and used to identify an inhibitor concentration based on the failure probability and consequence. A dosage of a corrosion inhibitor for mitigating corrosion of a pipeline can be computed based on the inhibitor concentration. In some examples, the dosage of the corrosion inhibitor can be adjusted based on a modification factor computed at least based on a corrosion rate measured for the pipeline.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for insulating and heating a subsea pipeline. A system may comprise a subsea pipeline including a lower portion embedded in a seafloor and an upper portion above the seafloor. The system may include an insulating layer. The insulating layer may include a middle portion covering the upper portion of the subsea pipeline. The insulating layer may further include an end portion covering the seafloor. The insulating layer may form a cavity adjacent to the seafloor, the subsea pipeline, and the insulating layer. The system may further include a plurality of heater cables within the cavity. The plurality of heater cables may be configured to heat a fluid within the subsea pipeline. The plurality of heater cables may be separated from the subsea pipeline only by seawater or by soil of the seafloor within the cavity.

摘要: An apparatus in the form of a subterranean storage container configured to store a volume of a small molecular gas, such as hydrogen or methane. In some embodiments, a casing is arranged to extend into a subterranean formation. A top end of the casing is connected to a top cap structure. The top cap structure includes an adapter flange connected to an inner liner which extends within the casing and is separated therefrom by a circumferentially extending annulus. The annulus is configured to be filled with a fluid at a predetermined pressure. The fluid may be an uncompressible liquid such as propylene glycol. The small molecular gas is stored within an interior of the inner liner at a selected pressure, such as above 1000 pounds per square inch (psi).
