    摘要: An energy efficient remote control protocol uses a start bit which has a variable length which corresponds to the parity of the transmitted symbol, a guard time which is fixed at a predetermined length, and a data transmission time which corresponds to the data to be transmitted. The data to be transmitted is transmitted as a logic low, thus improving the energy efficiency of the system. During the transmission of a code, only one stop bit is used at the end of the transmission. The guard time and parity check are used to verify proper transmission.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are provided wherein there is associated with each value of a measurement of a parameter such as pressure, for transmission through an electromagnetic coupling device, a time duration or period which is a function of the measured value. A first, start signal of relatively short duration is transmitted and thereafter, at the end of a period which is a function of the parameter, a second, ending signal of relatively short duration is transmitted. A receiving device which is responsive to said signals, measures the elapsed time between them, i.e., measures the length of the intervening period, and converts this measurement into a measure of the parameter.

This system is characterized such that: a transmitter includes a carrier oscillating circuit for oscillating a carrier with a frequency higher than a radio broadcasting frequency band or a telephone transmitting-and-receiving frequency band; an operation voltage of this carrier oscillating circuit is turned ON/OFF by a drive control circuit; the carrier oscillating circuit is turned ON for a preset period prior to the transmission of the code thereby to transmit a leader pulse signal; the carrier oscillating circuit is subsequently turned ON in a pulse-like configuration at an interval corresponding to the code thereby to transmit a code pulse signal; a receiver receives the signal from the transmitter through a radio receiving antenna or a telephone transmitting-and-receiving antenna; the receiver is kept in an operation-state by a periodic operation control circuit at a cycle shorter than a continuance time of the leader pulse signal; when the leader pulse signal is detected by a detecting circuit, the receiver is held in the operation-state by an operation holding circuit; and the code pulse signal is converted into a code in accordance with a pulse interval by a code converting circuit.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for encoding and synchronizing and sequencing pulse encoded data in a pulse telemetry system. The time intervals between successive pulses in a pulse train are representative of the magnitude of the data parameters. Redundant pulses are included in the pulse trains at predetermined time locations with respect to the pulses so as to enhance the ability to recognize or distinguish data pulses over noise signals. Synchronization pulses are employed to enable identification of the particular data parameters even though one or more of the data pulses is obscured by noise. The sequence of the production of the pulse code signals is continuously monitored to enable the telemetering system to be activated promptly after a shutdown at the place in the train of data where it would be if the shutdown had not occurred.

    摘要: A remote control circuit for the control of one or more functions of a device, for example a toy or transparency projector, comprises a transmitter for transmitting control signal pulses and a receiver for evaluating the transmitted pulses, the design of the transmitter being such that the number of its components and its consumption of current are minimized. The transmitter accordingly comprises a monostable multivibrator with two complementary transistors. The collector of the first transistor is connected to the base of the second transistor, and the collector of the second transistor is connected to a signal pulse transmitting component, for example an infrared diode, and through a resistance-capacitance coupling to the base of the first transistor. Also connected to the base of the first transistor is a number of components determining different pulse intervals and corresponding in number to the functions to be controlled. The components can be individually switched in by respective switches. The receiver comprises a resistor-capacitor charging-circuit adapted to provide a sawtooth voltage dependent on the pulse intervals and a voltage level detecting stage for detecting different voltage levels and selectively controlling the functions in dependence on detected levels.

    摘要: Apparatus for generating a plurality of pilot signals is disclosed. First and second sets of timers are fed by a common system clock. Each timer of both the first and second sets of timers is adapted to generate a gating pulse a predetermined time period after the initiation of a timing cycle in accordance with a timing characteristic peculiar to each timer. The timing characteristic of the timers in both the first and second sets are chosen such that at least one of the timers in the first set generates a gating pulse at the same time that at least one of the timers in the second set generates a gating pulse. The gating signals generated by each of the first set of timers are applied to one input of each of a plurality of two input pilot signal gates. The gating signal generated by each of the second set of timers is applied to the remaining input of a different one of the plurality of two input pilot signal gates. Each of the pilot signal gates generates a pilot signal whenever a gating signal is applied to each of its inputs.
