    摘要: A method of manufacturing a radio frequency, RF, lens is provided. According to one aspect, a method includes additive manufacturing process to deposit material under computer control to form the lens in a predetermined shape. The method also includes controlling the process during deposition to generate a structure formed by cells, a cell size being selected to achieve a desired effective dielectric constant and to achieve a desired upper frequency of operation of the lens. According to another embodiment, a method includes implementing an additive manufacturing process to deposit material in a random manner under computer control to form the lens in a predetermined shape.

The RF antenna assembly may include an RF transmission line having an inner conductor and an outer conductor extending within the first tubular conductor, and a feed structure coupled to a distal end of the RF transmission line. The feed structure may include a first radially compressible connector coupled to the outer conductor of the RF transmission line to slidably engage adjacent portions of the first electrical contact sleeve, a second radially compressible connector coupled to the inner conductor of the RF transmission line to slidably engage adjacent portions of the second electrical contact sleeve, and a dielectric tube coupled between the first and second radially compressible connectors.

    摘要: An antenna includes a receiver, a horn, a lens, and an anti-reflection layer. The horn has a first end disposed on the receiver and a second end defining an aperture positioned opposite the receiver. The lens is disposed within the aperture of the horn and has a first surface facing inward toward the receiver and a second surface opposite the first surface and facing outward away from the horn. The anti-reflection layer includes a dielectric material and is disposed on the first surface of the lens. Moreover, the anti-reflection layer defines holes arranged in a 50/50 material to void ratio and that have a thickness of a quarter wavelength of a signal received by the antenna.

An assembly of defective PFB material elements is superposed on the reflector plane and the radiating element. Each defective PFB material element is substantially plane, parallel to the reflector, and presents at least one characteristic of magnetic permeability, of dielectric permittivity, and/or of thickness in the direction perpendicular to the reflector that differs from one defective PFB material element to another. The assembly forms a leaky resonant cavity.

    摘要: A monoconical antenna comprises: a substantially conical concavity formed in one end face of a dielectric; a radiation electrode provided on the surface of the concavity; and a ground conductor provided in proximity to and substantially in parallel with the other end face opposite the one end face of the dielectric. The monoconical antenna is so constituted that electrical signals are fed to between the near vertex region of the radiation electrode and the region of the ground conductor. The half-cone angle α of the substantially conical concavity formed in the one end face of the dielectric is determined by a predetermined rule corresponding to relative dielectric constant εr. Thus, the quality of wideband characteristics inherent in the monoconical antenna can be sufficiently maintained, and further size reduction can be accomplished by dielectric loading.

    摘要: A beam switching antenna system and method and apparatus for controlling the same is provided, by which optimal antenna characteristics can be maintained according to a peripheral environment, the necessary time and power consumption of searching an optimal beam-direction can be reduced, and electromagnetic waves of a beam generated from an antenna can be minimized. The beam switching antenna system includes an antenna element for transmitting and receiving a beam; a dielectric body surrounding said antenna element; at least one conductive reflector facing a lateral outside of said dielectric body; and a ground switch circuit connected to said at least one conductive reflector. The ground switch circuit includes a reference voltage source generating a reference voltage; a ground line connected to the reference voltage source; an electrical switching device connected between the ground line and the conductive reflector; and a controller for controlling the electrical switching device. The conductive reflector includes an upper conductive reflector having one end connected to one terminal of the electrical switching device; and a lower conductive reflector having one end connected to another terminal of the electrical switching device and the other end connected to the ground line.

    摘要: A lens antenna having high antenna efficiency, low sidelobe levels, and that is easily assembled. The lens antenna includes a first horn made of a metallic conductor, a second horn made of a high-frequency absorbing plastic material, and a lens for controlling the power distribution at an aperature of the horn. Screws may be used to assemble the first horn, the second horn, and the lens. Though some of the microwave signals input through the circular waveguide of the first horn are reflected on the surface of the lens, most of the microwave signals are absorbed by the second horn. Moreover, because no wave absorber is bonded to an inner wall of a conical horn, nothing screens the microwave signal, the power density distribution at the aperture of the lens is not disrupted. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a desired power density distribution.
