摘要： A connector-cable assembly in which a flat, multiple wire cable is secured in a connector body through a transverse, sharply angled rib, and the stripped wire ends are terminated into a plurality of plate members disposed in parallel planes and spaced longitudinally of the wires to provide mounting and working space. Each wire is terminated by being progressively urged and then forced into an open throated slot formed in one of the plate members. The slots are formed so that there is intimate, large area contact, and wedge resistance to linear pull-out. The plate members are plated for corrosion resistance and a heating step following mechanical connection causes melting or intermetallic diffusion. The rib not only provides strain relief, but also indexes the cable end for assembly and anchors the cable for partial stripping--the latter permitting simultaneous and convenient positioning of the wires.

摘要： The subject matter herein is an electrical connector particularly adapted for quickly and easily electrically and mechanically connecting insulated ends of a pair of insulated electrical wires. The subject connector includes an elongated penetrator tube, having a flared annular lip at one end. A groove is formed in the tube to provide a convenient means for holding the tube in an automatic assembly machine. The tube has a plurality of penetrator locks formed integral with side walls of the tube. Each of the locks has a plurality of penetrator prongs extending inwardly of the tube. One of the penetrator prongs in each of the locks is longer than the remainder of the prongs to provide a holding prong, which engages the insulating material as the wires are inserted into the tube to hold the wires in the tube prior to final locking. Each holding prong has a rounded side adjacent to the flared annular lip to facilitate insertion of insulated wires and avoid tearing of insulation and stubbing of the wires. A permanently deformable electrically-conductive sheath receives the tube. An insulator tube surrounds the sheath to insulate electrically the exterior of the sheath. When the connector is squeezed, the penetrator prongs penetrate the insulating material of the wire and electrically contact the electrical conductor so that the wires are mechanically gripped by the deformed tube and sheath, and are also electrically connected.

摘要： An electrical connector system is shown in which a sheet metal contact with an open barrel wire receiving portion is attached to a wire conductor by spirally crimping the open barrel closed upon the wire. The spiral crimp is formed from multiple opposed indents, each arranged at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the contact and each decreasing in depth to smoothly merge with the diameter of the open barrel portion to prevent stress build-up. Shoulders are provided on each side of the crimped surface of the open barrel to strengthen the contact and prevent distortion.

摘要： A crimp-type terminal adapted to be electrically connected to the conductors of a wire and inserted into an aperture formed in a circuit panel. The terminal includes an elongated tapered nose section adapted to be received through the aperture. The nose section has a central conductor support area for supporting the conductors of the wire which are surrounded by a rear portion and a forward conductor gripping portion. The conductors are partially exposed between the forward and rear portions after the nose section is inserted through the aperture. When the circuit panel is wave soldered, the solder material adheres directly to the exposed conductors.

摘要： The subject matter herein is an electrical connector particularly adapted for mechanically holding two electrical wires to each other, wherein each wire has two electrical conductors. An insulator tube receives the pair of sheaths, with their respective sleeves mounted therein, and includes a separator for electrically insulating the sheaths from each other.
