摘要: Provided herein are immunogenic compositions containing recombinant proteins capable of presenting all, or antigenic portions of, the Eimeria tenella Elongation Factor 1 alpha, or EF-1α, protein in the development of active immunity to, and control of, coccidiosis. Also provided are methodologies of using the immunogenic compositions for administration to poultry and other animals in the control of coccidiosis. In some instances, the EF-1α protein utilized in the immunogenic composition presented herein is molecularly manipulated or combined with adjuvants to increase effectiveness.

摘要: The invention pertains to a method to sporulate coccidial oocysts purified from animal faeces (5), the method comprising providing the purified oocysts as a layer (40) on a supporting surface (22), maintaining the layer at least intermittently in an oxygen containing gaseous environment (60) having a relative humidity of at least 15% and maintaining the temperature of the oocysts between 19° C. and 37° C. The invention also pertains to sporulated oocysts obtained with this method and to a vaccine containing such sporulated oocysts.

摘要: Methods for improving the health of agricultural poultry are provided. For example, methods including selecting specific bacteria to form a probiotic for the administration with coccidiosis vaccines for the reduction of adverse effects associated with the coccidiosis vaccines are disclosed. In accordance with various aspects of the present disclosure, a bacterial isolate, probiotic and or treatment may be obtained by novel screening methods resulting in products that are advantageously administered with or about the same time as a coccidiosis vaccine.
