摘要: The invention herein comprises a kit and method that may be used to replace damaged and worn stabilizer bearings in both the Echo and Delta Apache helicopter. The kit includes a removal assembly that includes a bolt coupled to a cutting means. Tightening of the bolt causes the cutting means to cut the damaged and worn bearing from its housing. A staking means is disclosed that allows the staking of a replacement bearing in the housing is provided. The staking assembly joins the replacement bearing to the housing so that it is tight. And, an installation assembly is disclosed that utilizes the bolt utilized in the cutting means coupled to a hex nut.

摘要: Methods for placing an indicia on a composite structure generally include printing the indicia on a first film surface of a coating film, with the coating film being in a partially cured state at the time the printing the indicia is performed, and positioning the coating film on a partially cured composite structure such that a second film surface of the coating film faces and is positioned against a surface of the composite structure, with the second film surface being opposite the first film surface. Finally, the coating film and the composite structure may then be co-cured. Systems for printing an indicia on a composite structure generally include the coating film, a printer configured to print the indicia on the first film surface of the coating film, a securement configured to secure the coating film during printing, and a curing device for co-curing the coating film and the composite structure.

摘要: A system and method for performing a test procedure on a system under test are provided. An actuation unit operatively coupled to the system under test is configured to perform at least one operation thereon. A visual recognition unit is configured to capture at least one image of the system under test in real-time. A test unit remotely interfaced with the system under test is configured to perform the test procedure. Using the test unit, the test procedure is retrieved from the memory, at least one control signal is output to the actuation unit for causing the at least one operation to be performed in real-time for testing the system under test in accordance with the one or more test instructions, and the at least one image of the system under test is monitored as the at least one operation is performed for validating the test procedure in real-time.

摘要: A system for regenerating fastener holes in a replacement tip section of a rotor blade includes a first fixture, a second fixture, and a third fixture positionable adjacent a tip section of the rotor blade. The first fixture is used to verify a position of an opening formed in the spar. The second fixture includes a removable bushing having a drillable opening. The drillable opening is aligned with the at least one opening formed in the spar and defines at least one hole to be formed in the replacement tip section. The third fixture includes a countersink opening. The countersink opening is aligned with the at least one hole to be formed in the replacement tip section and the at least one opening formed in the spar to define a countersink feature to be formed in the at least one hole.

摘要: A method of repairing a compressor outlet housing includes the steps of obtaining a damaged compressor outlet housing having a radially outer volute, a radially inwardly extending finger extending to an axially extending ledge, a radially inwardly extending web extending radially inwardly from the ledge, and a radially inner bearing support defining a bore. The method identifies a damaged section within at least one of the bearing support, the web, and the ledge, and removes at least the bearing support and the web to leave a remaining part. The method then inserts an insert having at least a replacement bearing support and a replacement web into the remaining part after the removal step. The method then welds the insert to the remaining part to provide a repaired compressor housing. A method of replacing a compressor outlet housing and a replacement compressor outlet housing are also disclosed.

摘要: A method for laser shock peening of a component, in particular at points that are difficult to access, includes the steps of: supplying a first end of a flexible optical waveguide, which end is designed in the form of an optical waveguide brush having a plurality of divergent optical waveguide fibres, to a point of the component to be treated by laser shock peening; generating laser shock pulses, which are coupled in at a second end of the optical waveguide, by a laser beam source; and discharging the laser shock pulses by the optical waveguide brush into a process zone at the point of the component to be treated. 摘要: A method for repairing aircraft window laminates in which two plies have become separated to create a void, and wherein moisture may have entered through an edge of the window laminate and into the void. The method includes the steps of: placing the window laminate in a vacuum bag and inserting the vacuum bag containing the window laminate into an oven or autoclave for a minimum of ten minutes at a minimum temperature of 120 degrees Fahrenheit to remove the moisture between the plies; removing the vacuum bag and window laminate from the oven, and removing the window from the vacuum bag; forcing a needle on a syringe through the edge of the window laminate in the area of the void; and injecting an adhesive in the syringe into the void to fill the void with the adhesive.
