摘要： A novel magnetic disc recording cassette is provided as a thin polygonal cassette housing containing a disc of flexible magnetic recording media. A drive hub attached to the media is exposed through the cassette and cooperates with a complementary drive hub in a deck which receives the cassette in slot-loading fashion into a carriage which in turn positions the cassette for driving of the recording disc. The cassette and disc may be single or double sided, and includes access opening for a magnetic transducer to follow different circular tracks, or a helical track. The thin magnetic disc is provided with backing in the cassette to assure compliant interface of the transducer with the magnetic recording disc. The backing may be a backing sheet, discs of backing material, or felt surfaced shims adjacent the region of interface with the transducer. Passages are provided for air flow in response to rotation of the recording disc to provide a continuing smooth and minimum friction rotation of the disc within the cassette. The cassette is supported either on the base of the carriage or by a separately adjustable three point suspension system.

摘要： A cassette containing a magnetic recording media has a rotatably mounted hub connected to the media and provided with at least one face having a plurality of circularly arranged radially extending and axially facing undercut teeth. A complementary drive hub is provided in a deck to receive the cassette. The drive and driven hubs are brought into engagement, preferably by interacting alignment members on the two hubs, and the complementary undercut teeth cause the two hubs to mesh for positive driving engagement in one direction. The hubs are capable of overrunning in the opposite direction of rotation.

摘要： An electric shears in which there is provided a housing having swingably interconnected first and second cutting blades mounted therein and projecting outwardly therefrom. A gear train is mounted within the housing and is interconnected between a reversable electric motor and said second blade for moving said second blade with respect to said first blade. A manually manipulatable switch assembly is mounted on said housing and is coupled through a second switch assembly for actuating said motor to drive said gear train in a first direction to cause the cutting blades to open and close. A cam driven by the gear train is engageable with said second switch assembly for selectively opening and closing said assembly to control said motor to drive said gear train in a second direction for an interval sufficient to position the cutting blades in an open position and deactuate said motor.

摘要： A method of forming a slidable interconnection between a tube and an opening in a plate. In accordance with one form of the disclosure said tube is inserted through an opening in said plate and a pair of annular projections are formed on said tube. Prior to forming said projections, a first washer is placed on the tube on one side of said plate and a second washer and a collar formed from an easily destructible material are placed on the tube on the opposite side of the plate with said collar carried against one face of said plate. Said projections are brought into binding engagement with said washers. After said projections are disposed in such binding engagement, the collar is removed to reduce the tightness of the fit between said washers and the plate.
