Abstract:
The present invention provides very high affinity antibodies, or antigen-binding fragments thereof, that neutralize mature human TGF-β1, TGF-β2, and TGF-β3. The antibodies of the invention are useful for treating cell proliferative disorders in a mammal.
Abstract:
The present application relates to the treatment and diagnosis of mood disorders, including bipolar disorder, major depression disorder and schizophrenia. The invention provides novel diagnostic markers and assays, as well as research tools for the development and discovery of agents and compounds which are useful for treating patients who suffer from mental illness.
Abstract:
The design and ornamentation for a volleyball net as shown and described. A volleyball game net adapted by size and configuration to meet the requirements of play in the game of volleyball, said net having a micro mesh fabric that allows air to flow through yet is opaque in color and not see through, with a peripheral margin defined by a top edge, a bottom edge, a first side edge and a second side edge; said side edges being spaced apart from each other and joining the top edge to the bottom edge. Each edge is impregnated with a fluorescent material on each side of the net, which after being exposed to sunlight or incandescent light becomes visible after dark. The Menal Volleyball Net will have a distinct pattern centered from upper left corner to lower right corner depicting five Menal Volleyballs in a straight diagonal line. Each Menal Volleyball on the surface of the net will be of the exact shape and size with the appropriate triangular pattern and fluorescent tips of a regulation Menal Volleyball. Each Menal Volleyball descending from left to right will depict the ball rotating in flight such that the Menal Volleyball logo will be centered and prominately displayed in the third ball which shall be in the center of the Menal Volleyball Net.
Abstract:
The invention includes select blends of elastomeric compositions of at least one halogenated elastomer and at least one other elastomer to impart certain properties to articles made from those select blends. For example, the at least one halogenated elastomer may be at least one halogenated butyl rubber, at least one halogenated star-branched butyl rubber, or at least one halogenated random copolymer of a C4 to C7 isomonoolefin derived unit, such as an isobutylene derived unit, and at least one other polymerizable unit, such as methylstyrene. The invention also includes methods to improve the brittleness point of articles made from those select blends.
Abstract:
A connector for connecting an attachment to a garment hanger. The connector is located on one of said attachment and said hanger and comprises a connecting portion for releasably engaging a receiving portion on the other of the attachment and the hanger, said connecting portion comprising first and second biased engagement members biased in transverse directions such that at least a part of said first and second biased engagement members engage with respective portions of said receiving portion to releasably attach said attachment to said hanger.
Abstract:
The provisioning of a service, such as a multimedia service, over different networks is described. Transmission of first and second data streams is established in first and second transmission modes over first and second networks. The first and second data streams carry the same content, and the first and second networks employ first and second radio access technologies. At the receiver, the first and second data streams are combined at the application layer into a combined data stream, which is decoded into an output for presentation to a user.
Abstract:
A method and arrangement (100) for PRACH burst channel detection in a UTRA TDD wireless communication system in which training sequences are constructed from a single periodic base code. Unwanted cross-correlation peaks, having magnitude less than correlation peaks, are removed (440) from the correlator outputs, maintaining optimal signal-to-noise ratio of the channel estimates, providing a low probability of false detection, and extending the cell size of a CDMA network to that determined by the guard period duration. The cell size can be extended further by ensuring that no transmissions are scheduled for the timeslot subsequent to that in which the channel estimation bursts are scheduled.
Abstract:
Operation of a power-by-light valve (15) by a source (11) along an optical fibre (13) is monitored by means of optical sensors (14) from which light passes back along fibre (13) to monitoring and processing units (16, 17). The sensors (14) include fibre bragg gratings (41, 43) for detecting differential pressure across diaphragms (42) and for detecting temperature. At the input end, an optical coupler (12) supplies sensor signals to units (16, 17) which can control source (11) via a signal (32).
Abstract:
Novel protein C derivatives are described. These polypeptides retain the biological activity of the wild-type human protein C with substantially longer half-lives in human blood. These polypeptides will require either less frequent administration and/or smaller dosage than wild-type human protein C in the treatment of vascular occlusive disorders, hypercoagulable states, thrombotic disorders and disease states predisposing to thrombosis.
