The skews in a hard disk drive are optimized by a method including the steps of: initializing a measurement position on a disk to obtain a skew value; initializing a skew table; moving a transducer head to a corresponding measurement position; obtaining an optimal value of track skew and cylinder skew; determining whether the current head position is a last measurement position; when the current head position is not the last measurement position, selecting the next measurement position and returning to the head moving step; and when the current head position is the last measurement position, storing the obtained optimal skew value in a predetermined area of said drive or a memory device. As a result, the time for reading and writing information from and to the disk is sharply reduced.

An information encryption system and an information encryption method for encrypting character information and decrypting the encrypted information by using optical character recognition includes a user terminal comprising: a viewer region display unit for displaying a viewer region at the very top of a screen; a viewer character recognition unit for recognizing in real-time characters displayed on a screen region covered by the viewer region, a viewer character encryption unit for generating an encrypted character by encrypting a first character to be encrypted by using a cipher when the first character is recognized; an encrypted character substitution unit for deleting the first character and substitutively inputting the encrypted character; and a viewer character display unit for displaying a non-encrypted second character as it is, and decrypting an encrypted second character by using a cipher and displaying the same in an original character when the second character to be displayed is recognized.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for saving power in an office machine having a display panel are provided. The method comprises setting the apparatus in an operation standby mode, detecting whether an error exists in the apparatus and turning on the display panel to display the error thereon when the error is detected. Furthermore, the apparatus keeps the display panel in an off state when the error is not detected. Thus, the exemplary embodiments of the present invention provide a power saving method of an office machine which prevents unnecessary power consumption during an operation of an office machine having a display panel.

The present invention provides an apparatus for measuring a Depth-Of-Interaction (DOI), comprising a crystal layer 10 of a mono layer in which a plurality of crystals for absorbing gamma rays are consecutively arranged, scintillation light detectors disposed at one end of the crystals and configured to detect scintillation light emitted from the crystal layer 10 by the gamma rays, change means included in the crystals and configured to linearly change transmittance in a length direction of the crystals, and a control unit 30 configured to calculate the DOI in the crystal layer 10 on a basis of the first output signal and the second output signal. The scintillation light detector outputs the first output signal in one direction and the second output signal in a direction at a right angle to the one direction.

The radiation diagnosis apparatus includes: a first radiation detector; a second radiation detector for generating an output signal having a same polarity as that of the first radiation detector; an inverter formed at an output terminal of the first radiation detector to invert the polarity of the input output signal; a discriminator for receiving a common signal from the first and second radiation detector and outputting a control signal corresponding to the input common signal; and a data acquisition unit for converting an input signal to a digital signal according to the control signal while taking output signals of the plurality of inverters and the second radiation detector as inputs, and identifying an output signal of which detector of the first and second detectors the input signal is according to a polarity difference of the input signal.

An organic light emitting display device includes a pixel unit including data lines, a data driving unit providing data signals corresponding to first and second data to the data lines, a timing controlling unit controlling the data driving unit and supplying the first data from the outside, and a power supply for the pixel, data driving, and timing controlling units. A converting unit may receive the first data from the timing controlling unit, convert the first data into the second data, and transmit the converted second data to the data driving unit. When the first data supplied from the timing controlling unit has a digital bit corresponding to one of a first range for displaying white-related colors and a second range for displaying black-related colors, the converting unit converts the first data into the second data having a digital bit corresponding to one of the second and first ranges, respectively.

A chip mountable on a customer replaceable unit monitoring memory (CRUM) unit used in an image forming job includes a central processing unit (CPU) with an operating system (OS) thereof, which is separate from an OS of the image forming apparatus, to perform at least one of authentication and cryptographic data communication with a main body of an image forming apparatus by executing one cryptographic algorithm corresponding to a set state from among a plurality of pre-provided cryptographic algorithms, using the OS thereof. The security of a unit on which the chip is mounted can thereby be reinforced and random changes of data of the unit can be prevented.
