摘要： Modular actuators, steering tools, and rotary steerable drilling systems are presented herein. A modular actuator is disclosed for use in directing a drill string, which includes a housing proximate a drive shaft. The modular actuator includes a cartridge that is configured to couple to the outer periphery of the housing. A fluid reservoir is contained within the cartridge. A hydraulically actuated actuator piston, which is slidably disposed at least partially inside the cartridge, is movable between activated and deactivated positions. A hydraulic control system is also contained within the cartridge, fluidly coupling the fluid reservoir to the actuator piston. The hydraulic control system is configured to regulate movement of the actuator piston between the activated and deactivated positions such that the actuator piston selectively presses against and moves the drive shaft and thereby changes the direction of the drill string.

摘要： Provided is a method and apparatus for pulling a crown plug comprising: (a) providing a subsea lubricator having a longitudinal through bore and a jack attached to the subsea lubricator, the jack having a landing area; (b) providing a jacking string which includes a landing sub and a crown plug connector, the sub having a landing surface; (c) without the jacking string in step “b”, lowering the subsea lubricator of step “a”, to the horizontal christmas tree and attaching the lubricator to the christmas tree; (d) lowering the jacking string to the lubricator; (e) jacking up the jack such that the landing area of the jack contacts the landing surface of the landing sub; and; (f) while the lubricator remains attached to the christmas tree, raising the jacking string and crown plug through and out of the lubricator.

The module has a module main controller including a computer processor in communication with a module computer readable storage medium containing computer executable code. When the computer executable code is executed by the computer processor, it performs a method including determining whether a demand state is a peak demand state, employing a reduced operational mode of the energy consuming device during a peak demand state, and employing a normal operational mode of the energy consuming device during a demand state other than a peak demand state. In an embodiment, the system also includes a system main controller in communication with the module.

摘要： A door seal assembly for an armored vehicle includes a first flange extending around the periphery of a door panel and protruding from a cab-facing side thereof. The first flange extends toward the exterior surface of the armored vehicle when the door panel is in a secured-closed condition. A second flange also protrudes from the cab-facing side of the door panel and extends into the opening of the armored vehicle when the door panel is in the secured-closed condition. The second flange being nested within the first flange and spaced-apart therefrom so as to form a channel between the first flange and the second flange and extending around the door panel along the cab-facing side thereof. A third flange protrudes from the exterior surface of the armored vehicle and extends about the opening thereof. The third flange is received within the channel that is defined between the first flange and the second flange when the door panel is in the secured-closed condition. During use, a blast wave resulting from a detonation beside the armored vehicle is redirected plural times as it passes by the first, second and third flanges before entering the cab interior.

摘要： A biosafety cabinet includes one or more air filters below the work surface and a system for holding, sealing, replacing and disposing the air filters through the work access opening of the biosafety cabinet. The air filters under the work surface of the biosafety cabinet capture particulates entering the cabinet from the exterior environment and the particulates within the cabinet's work chamber. Instead of a mechanical clamp, the perimeter of the air filters are sealed using a gasket and a tape, eliminating the accumulation of the contaminants around mechanical clamps. The air filters may be accessed through the work access opening of the biosafety cabinet, packaged for disposal and removed from the biosafety cabinet without being exposed to the exterior environment. A filter cover with an adhesive surface is used to cover and lift the used, contaminated air filter within the biosafety cabinet.

摘要： A laptop device, battery powered, wireless remote control station transmits encrypted device signals to a receiver interfaced with a host desktop computer. The laptop device includes a microprocessor, which converts Input/Output device signals into a secured code and transmits the secured code to a computer interface transceiver using the same frequency. The laptop device receives and sends signals to the keyboard, monitor, joystick, mouse, speakers and microphone. The computer interface transceiver called the Base Unit only recognizes or accepts secured signals with authenticated encryption passwords. For the signals accepted the Base Unit forwards the signals to the host computer via a physical connection to the appropriate device. The Base Unit also transmits the secured signal codes back to the laptop device called UIU (User Interface Unit) which then allocates the signal to the appropriate device located on the UIU. In addition, all screen displays that originate in the computer will be transmitted to the UIU and displayed on the display therein in a secure manner.
