Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for radio frequency (RF) sensing in the millimeter-wave frequency spectrum that can be performed over multiple phases. During a session setup phase, a radar initiator identifies one or more wireless stations (STAs) that are capable of radar ranging and sets up a radar measurement session that includes at least one of the identified STAs. During a measurement negotiation phase, the radar initiator performs a respective beamforming training operation with each STA and indicates, to each STA, one or more parameters associated with the radar measurement session. During a radar measurement phase, the radar initiator transmits radar setup information to, and receives ranging information from, each STA. In some aspects, the radar initiator may perform an object detection operation that indicates a location of an object associated with the ranging information received from each radar STA.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, and a network entity may receive, multiple physical random access channel (PRACH) signals at multiple power levels during a time period. The multiple power levels may be randomly or pseudo-randomly selected from within a power range defined for the PRACH signals. The UE may receive a response message indicating one or more of the PRACH signals of the multiple PRACH signals detected during the time period. The UE may transmit a random access request message at a first power level of the multiple power levels according to the one or more PRACH signals of the multiple PRACH signals detected during the time period.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a receiver configured to receive, from a base station, a control message indicating a sidelink resource pool. The apparatus further includes a transmitter configured to perform, after receiving the control message, a sidelink transmission using one or more sidelink resources. Based on a speed exceeding a threshold speed, the one or more sidelink resources include one of a first sidelink resource of the sidelink resource pool or a preconfigured sidelink resource. The one or more sidelink resources include the first sidelink resource based on the first sidelink resource being associated with a high speed flag. The one or more sidelink resources include the preconfigured sidelink resource based on a time interval since a previous sidelink transmission failing to exceed a threshold time interval and further based on the sidelink resource pool failing to indicate a resource associated with the high speed flag.

Abstract: A scheduled entity receives a communication from a scheduling entity that facilitates a configuration on how to connect with a plurality of candidate cells. The scheduled entity then exchanges information about the plurality of candidate cells with the scheduling entity via Layer 1 (L1)/Layer 2 (L2) signaling, and connects with at least one of the plurality of candidate cells based on the L1/L2 signaling and the configuration. In another example, a scheduling entity transmits a communication to a scheduled entity to pre-configure the scheduled entity on how to connect with a plurality of candidate cells. The scheduling entity then receives information about the plurality of candidate cells from the scheduled entity via L1/L2 signaling, and dynamically selects via the L1/L2 signaling at least one of the plurality of candidate cells to serve the scheduled entity.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for performing positioning using a sidelink (SL) positioning protocol (SLPP). Techniques address SLPP issues related to conveying user equipment (UE) position method capabilities, SL PRS resource allocation, UE support of multiple other UEs, SLPP forward compatibility, SL PRS configuration reference, and SLPP common time reference. Techniques of enabling SLPP common time reference may further provide for the determination of propagation delay and/or relative location of UEs performing positioning using SLPP.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first device may activate an independent synchronization source mode based on one or more conditions associated with the first device. The independent synchronization source mode may correspond to the first device operating as reference for synchronization. The first device may transmit one or more synchronization signals indicating a device type of the first device and indicating that the first device is operating as the reference for synchronization. For example, the first device may select one or more bits or an identifier corresponding to the device type to include in the one or more synchronization signals. A second device receiving the one or more synchronization signals may select the first device as a reference for synchronization based on the device type. The second device may synchronize with the first device using the synchronization signal.
