Abstract:
Apparatus for forming an arched and corrugated roof sheet having a horizontal central section and two downwardly inclined sections extending from each end of the central section to the ends of the sheet. The arched roof is formed from a flat sheet having corrugations formed therein. The corrugated flat sheet is formed into an arch by bending each end margin of the sheet into two downwardly inclined sections relative to each other.
Abstract:
A baggage handling system primarily for airports consisting of a continuous train of wheeled modular carriers which follow a predetermined path created by guide rails which bear against guide wheels mounted on the wheel assemblies. The train is driven by a motor operatively connected to a continuous chain drive assembly which engages chain dogs affixed to each modular carrier.
Abstract:
A coupler positioning device including a movably mounted coupler carrying carriage which maintains an uncoupled coupler slightly spaced from the primary coupler support. An actuating linkage for positioning the carriage to correspond to the angular position of the trucks includes a push-pull cable. A push-pull spring arrangement including a pre-compressed spring serves to transmit the moving force from the cable connected to the truck to a linkage fixed to the carriage.
Abstract:
Methods for forming hatch frames integral with a roof sheet for a car or container. In one embodiment the hatch frame is constructed so that the cutout portion forming the hatch opening is used to provide a hatch cover. Another embodiment includes the formation of a hatch frame and cover member, simultaneously with corrugations in the roof sheet.
