Abstract:
A method and apparatus of configuring the byte structure of a memory storage device, including a flash memory device, to enhance the security and error correction capability is described. In one embodiment, the method includes increasing the security of data stored in the storage device by encrypting data with a unique initialization vector and storing the initialization vector in the storage device. The method also includes using a unique initialization vector for encrypting data, to be stored in each datablock, each time data are encrypted. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes an AES controller that includes encryption and decryption modules to encrypt and decrypt data prior to writing data to or reading from the storage device. The apparatus also includes an encoder module and decoder circuits to encode and decode data prior to writing or reading from memory storage devices. The apparatus optionally includes a state machine that generates and provides the initialization vector and also activates different components of AES controller and ECC module depending on the operation of the device.
Abstract:
The system and method herein for multiprotocol switching comprises multiprotocol switching cards, a user registration module and a billing module. The multiprotocol switching cards are used for switching at the system level, network level and application level. The multiprotocol switching cards are inserted in a plurality of slots. The services are installed in each card though installation of software programs. The user registration module registers the subscribers for different communication identifiers such as land line, wireless phones and devices, and email. The billing module supports the billing and payment activities across multiple communication protocols. The disclosed invention transfers data across different communication channels such as local area networks, wireless networks, satellite network, cable network, time division multiplexing networks, voice networks, and asynchronous transfer mode networks, frame networks, internet protocol networks, data networks, etc. The transferred data is one of a voice, data, video and any combination thereof.
Abstract:
A cosmetic case is provided. The cosmetic case contains multiple compartments. A base for holding cosmetic product containers forms the lower compartment. A movable tray positioned above the containers forms the upper compartment. The tray slides backward along with the opening of a lid of the cosmetic case. In addition, the tray slides forward upon closing of the lid. Bottom side of the tray has protruding formations that match the shapes of the containers. The protrusions substantially plug the containers upon closing the cosmetic case.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a magnetic memory device and method for storing and retrieving data. The magnetic memory device includes a read disk and a storage disk. The read disk comprises of an array of read heads wherein the individual read head corresponds to a storage element on the storage disk.
Abstract:
Apparatus which is capable of providing efficient cooling of rack mounted electronic modules while accommodating relatively large tolerances in the mounting of the modules. A plurality of thermally conductive sliding wedge blocks are interposed between the lower surface of each module and the upper surface of the cold plate base of the rack. The mechanism for clamping a module to the rack also pulls the wedge blocks together to fill in the gap between the lower surface of the module and the upper surface of the cold plate so as to provide a complete thermal path therebetween.
Abstract:
A storage controller comprising a first interface to exchange data with an appliance, such as a cell phone; a second interface to exchange data with a host system and receive power from the host system to provide power to the appliance; and a solid state memory to provide the appliance with storage for data.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a process for the upgradation of petroleum residue into useful fractions by subjecting petroleum residue in the presence of a solvent and ferrous sulphate catalyst to a pressure in the range of 10 atm. to 120 atm., temperature in the range of 380-420° C., for a period in the range of 0-120 minutes, in a reactor vessel, in an inert atmosphere. The charge is then cooled to room temperature and the product gas released through scrubbers. The residue is re-heated, if required, for free flow of liquid product. The resulting liquid product is distilled to obtain useful fractions.
Abstract:
A method for treating protozoal infections is described. The method employs N-acetonylbenzamide compounds provided in an effective amount to inhibit the growth of protozoans. The compounds are useful in controlling such protozoan parasites as Giardia lamblia, Leishmania major, Entamoeba histolytica, Cryptosporidium parvum, Toxoplasma gondii and microsporidia.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method of making tobacco rod in which method the tobacco filler material of the rod is subjected to radio frequency heating before feeding to a rod making machine. The elevated temperature increases the pliability of the tobacco filler, thus reducing its degradation in the rod making machine and enhancing the physical properties, e.g. ends stability, of the tobacco rods thus produced.
Abstract:
A system and method for detecting cavitation in pumps for fixed and variable supply frequency applications is disclosed. The system includes a controller having a processor programmed to repeatedly receive real-time operating current data from a motor driving a pump, generate a current frequency spectrum from the current data, and analyze current data within a pair of signature frequency bands of the current frequency spectrum. The processor is further programmed to repeatedly determine fault signatures as a function of the current data within the pair of signature frequency bands, repeatedly determine fault indices based on the fault signatures and a dynamic reference signature, compare the fault indices to a reference index, and identify a cavitation condition in a pump based on a comparison between the reference index and a current fault index.
