    摘要: Provided is a system and method for terrestrial digital broadcasting service using a single frequency network without additional equipment. The system and method synchronizes input signals into transmitting stations by inserting a transmission synchronization signal into a header of TS periodically, and solves the problematic ambiguity of the trellis encoder by including a trellis encoder switching unit separately and initializing a memory of the trellis encoder. The terrestrial digital broadcasting system includes: a broadcasting station for multiplexing video, voice and additional signals into transport stream (TS) and transmitting the TS to the transmitting stations and a transmitting stations for receiving the TS and broadcast the TS to receiving stations through a single frequency network.

The on-channel repeater can extract reception channel information from signals transmitted from a main transmitter or another repeater, compensate for channel distortion caused on a transmission channel by inversely reflecting the extracted reception channel information to the received signals, and transmit the channel-distortion compensated signals through the same channel as a reception channel, and a method thereof. The on-channel repeater includes: a receiver for receiving RF signals transmitted from outside; a down-converter for down-converting the received RF signals into signals of a desired band; a channel-estimator for estimating an inverse value of a reception channel based on the down-converted signals; an adaptation filter for compensating for channel distortion by using a filter having the inverse value of the estimated reception channel; an up-converter for up-converting the channel distortion-compensated signals into RF signals; and a transmitter for transmitting the up-converted RF signals.

The repeater receives signals on one channel and distributes the signals on the same channel by converting RF signals from a main transmitter into baseband signals; equalizing them in a high-performance equalizer, adding a repeater identifier to them; modulating the baseband signals with the repeater identifier into RF signals. The repeater includes: a receiver for receiving RF signals; a demodulator for demodulating the RF signals into baseband signals; an equalizer for equalizing the baseband signals; an adder for adding a repeater identifier to the baseband signals; a modulator for modulating the baseband signals with the repeater identifier added in the adder into RF signals; and a transmitter for transmitting the RF signals modulated in the modulator. The technology of the present invention is used to form an on-channel repeating network in an arbitrary transmission system including a digital television broadcasting system.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a transmission method, a transmission apparatus, a reception method, and a reception apparatus of a digital broadcasting signal that can add frame header information to a front portion of a transmission frame in a transmission system for digital broadcasting to thereby determine a different transmission mode, modulation level, hierarchical modulation, error correction code, and the like for each temporally different transmission frame, and a transmission frame structure thereof. The transmission frame structure includes a frame header containing multiplexing information of the transmission frame, and a frame body containing data information associated with a service provided by the transmission frame. Also, the frame header may include a frame synchronization signal unit including synchronization signal information for extracting a start position of the transmission frame and a frame information unit including multiplexing information of data contained in the transmission frame. The multiplexing information denotes information associated with a transmission mode, a modulation level, a hierarchical modulation, and an error correction code of the data contained in the transmission frame.
