摘要: A surface switchable down-jet/side-jet apparatus. The apparatus comprises a housing with a valve sleeve slidably disposed therein. When the valve sleeve is in a first position, fluid pumped into the apparatus will be jetted out of at least one longitudinally directed port. An actuator, such as a ball, is dropped into the apparatus to seat on the valve sleeve, and when pressure is applied thereto, forces the valve sleeve downwardly, shearing a shear pin. The valve sleeve is moved downwardly to a second position in which at least one transverse port in the housing is uncovered and the longitudinal port is closed. Additional fluid pumped into the apparatus is jetted radially outwardly through the transverse port.

摘要: An apparatus for converting pressure into motion includes a housing having a plurality of ports formed therein. Movably disposed within the housing is a piston having a first plurality of apertures communicating with a first chamber and a second plurality of apertures communicating with a second chamber therein. The piston is positioned within the housing so that the apertures can register with consecutive ones of the ports as the piston is moved in either of two directions within the housing. The movable member is moved by a pressurizing substance applied to a selectable one of the ports through an appropriate valve circuit. The valve circuit is operated by excitation signals from a control member. By operating the valve circuit in an appropriate sequence, the pressurizing substance is sequentially applied to consecutive ones of the ports to move the piston longitudinally through the housing.

摘要: A system for use with a subterranean well can include a fluid oscillator which discharges pulsating fluid from a tubular string in a direction at least partially toward an end of the tubular string proximate a surface of the earth. A method can include discharging a fluid from the tubular string, thereby applying a reaction force to the tubular string, which reaction force biases the tubular string at least partially into the well. Another method can include discharging a pulsating fluid from a fluid oscillator in a direction at least partially toward an end of the tubular string, and drilling into an earth formation with a drill bit connected at an opposite end of the tubular string in the well.

摘要: A method and apparatus for orchestrating multiple fractures at multiple well locations in a region by flowing well treatment fluid from a centralized well treatment fluid center includes the steps of configuring a well treatment fluid center for fracturing multiple wells, inducing a fracture at a first well location, measuring effects of stress fields from the first fracture, determining a time delay based in part upon the measured stress effects, inducing a second fracture after the time delay at a second location based upon the measured effects, and measuring the stress effects of stress fields from the second fracture. Sensors disposed about the region are adapted to output effects of the stress fields. Location and orientation of subsequent fractures is based on the combined stress effects of the stress fields as a result of the prior fractures which provides for optimal region development.
