When an oil-based ink is employed, the ink-philic organic plasma polymer film may contain halogen atoms while the ink-phobic organic plasma polymer film may contain oxygen atoms and/or nitrogen atoms.
摘要:
A display device which has a liquid crystal display which has a plurality liquid crystal pixels arranged in a matrix and which writes an image thereon after resetting the liquid crystal. The method of writing on the liquid crystal display can be selected from driving methods according to interlace scanning in which a frame is divided into a plurality of fields and writing by interlace scanning is performed and driving methods according to sequential scanning in which scanning lines are subjected to writing serially. When high-speed writing is required, for example, when display of a motion picture, display of inputted letters or scroll display is desired, one of the driving methods according to interlace scanning is selected. In interlace scanning, based on the end of a blackout state of a scanning line in a field, selection of a scanning line in the next field for writing is started. Writing on a scanning line comprises a reset step of resetting the liquid crystal, a selection step of selecting the final state of the liquid crystal, an evolution step of stabling the liquid crystal into the selected state, and one of the length of the reset step and the total length of the selection step and the evolution step is n times (n: natural number) the other. For example, when the length of the reset step is n times the total length of the selection step and the evolution step and when a frame is divided into m fields (m: natural number larger than n) for interlace scanning, there is a moment when, in serial m scanning lines, n scanning lines of them are in the reset step, one of them is in the selection step or in the evolution step, and the other m-n-1 scanning lines are in a display step.

The present invention relates to an ink jet recording apparatus using an electrostatic actuator. The present invention provides an ink jet recording apparatus comprising a resilient oscillating plate that is facing a pressure chamber that communicates with a nozzle, a first electrode provided on said oscillating plate, a second electrode opposing said first electrode across a space, and a voltage application unit that applies across the first electrode and the second electrode a first voltage that causes the ink in said pressure chamber to be ejected and a second voltage that does not cause the ink to be ejected, wherein said second voltage is applied a specified time prior to the application of the first voltage, so that the residual electrical charges on the first electrode and/or the second electrode can be positively discharged.

An inkjet printing head is provided with an ink chamber forming member constructed of a ceiling plate and a glass thin plate which are made from identical photosensitive glass material. A plurality of groove-shaped recess are formed in parallel and at a regular pitch on one surface of the ceiling plate. The glass thin plate is integrally connected by heat treatment to a recess portion formation surface of the ceiling plate. With this arrangement, the inside of each of the recess covered with the glass thin plate serves as an ink chamber. In a manufacturing method of the ink chamber forming member, a photosensitive glass is coated to predetermined thickness on a support body. Subsequently, the photosensitive glass is subjected to pattern exposure via a mask plate. Through this process, the ultraviolet ray is applied to a portion which belongs to the photosensitive glass and corresponds to an area which is not masked, so that glass crystallization progresses only in this portion and a solubility to acid is developed. Then, the exposed photosensitive glass and the support body are immersed in an aqueous solution for chemical etching. Through this process, the exposed portion is melted to a specified depth, so that the plurality of recesses which serve as the ink chambers are formed. Subsequently, the photosensitive glass is crystallized through a heat treatment process for baking it, thereby obtaining the ceiling plate. Next, the ceiling plate is superposed on the glass thin plate, and the whole body is baked. Through this heat treatment, the ceiling plate and the glass thin plate are fused to be integrated into a body.

The present invention provides an ink jet printer which performs recording by causing a nozzle to discharge an ink drop onto a recording medium. The nozzle is connected to an ink channel in which aqueous ink is housed. The printer head can vary the dot size on the recording medium by changing the size of the drop that is discharged from the nozzle. The aqueous ink has a degree of surface tension change .DELTA.S that is expressed by the relation .DELTA.S=(S.sub.1 -S.sub.3)/ S.sub.2 of 0.3 or less, wherein S.sub.2 is the surface tension at 25.degree. C., and has a value of 20 to 50 dynes/cm, S.sub.1 is the surface tension at 5.degree. C., and S.sub.3 is the surface tension at 40.degree. C.
