摘要： An apparatus and method for changing a signal mapping rule in an hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) system are provided. In a transmitter in an automatic repeat request (ARQ) system according to the present invention, a memory stores different signal constellations for a predetermined modulation scheme according to retransmission numbers (k). A modulator reads a signal constellation according to a current retransmission number from the memory, upon receipt of a retransmission request signal from a receiver, and modulates transmission data to complex symbols on the signal constellation.

摘要： Disclosed are the design and implementation of a CSI feedback channel in a multi-carrier wireless communication system. An apparatus and a method for channel state feedback using arithmetic coding are provided to ensure efficiency and reliability of a system by transmitting the CSI while compressing the CSI with a predetermined compression rate selected depending on a channel state. The apparatus for CSI feedback in a wireless communication system performing channel estimation at a transmitter or a receiver by using a communication channel includes a transmitter terminal transmitting a signal for CSI measurement by using the communication channel, and a receiver terminal receiving the signal from the transmitter terminal, checking a channel state based on the received signal, and transmitting the signal to the transmitter terminal after compressing the signal according to the channel state.

In a transmitter employing a plurality of transmit antennas in the mobile communication system, if a signal to be transmitted is input, the transmit signal is pre-encoded according to a preset coding scheme, the pre-encoded signal is space-time mapped according to a number of the transmit antennas to employ a preset space time block coding scheme, and the space-time mapped signal is transmitted through the transmit antennas by applying the preset space time block coding scheme to the space-time mapped signal.

摘要： An apparatus and method for generating an octal code for identifying cells in a mobile communication system. In the octal code generating apparatus, a binary code generator generates a binary code with a predetermined minimum Hamming distance. A column permutator permutes the order of columns of the binary code in a predetermined interleaving method. A 3-bit combiner generates a plurality of codewords using the column-permuted binary code as a generator matrix and groups the bits of each of the codewords by threes. An octal code generator converts the 3-bit grouped binary codewords to octal code sequences.

摘要： A transmitter for a mobile communication system based on an OFDM scheme and a method for controlling the same. The transmitter can implement a characteristic of a multiple access scheme based on an OFDM scheme, a characteristic of a CDMA scheme, and a characteristic of a frequency hopping scheme which has very strong resistance to the frequency selective fading. An apparatus for transmitting information bit sequences from a BS (Base Station) transmitter to different users, includes a plurality of channelizers for dividing a single frame of information bit sequences to be transmitted to individual users into a plurality of times according to a given time interval, simultaneously transmitting the information bit sequences to the individual users within the plurality of division times, dividing the information bit sequences, spreading the divided information bit sequences using different Walsh codes, converting the spread information bit sequences into a single sequence associated with the individual users, and outputting the single sequence; and a frequency hopper for dividing the single sequence, distributing the spread information bit sequences over a plurality of bandwidths capable of mapping-processing the spread information bit sequences with sub-carrier frequencies, and preventing each of the bandwidths from overlapping with time-frequency cells given by the given time interval.

摘要： A subcarrier assignment apparatus and a subcarrier assignment method, in which each of a plurality of Base Stations (BSs) constituting an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) communication system provides services in the capacity of a serving BS to Mobile Stations (MSs). Channel quality information for the respective MSs are fed-back from the respective BSs. Subcarriers are assigned to the respective MSs according to a corresponding scheduling scheme in consideration of the channel quality information for the respective MSs, which are fed-back from the respective BSs, and then BSs which manage the subcarriers assigned to the respective MSs according to the corresponding scheduling scheme are selected. These operations provide site diversity to each of the MSs, and thus system capacity is maximized.

摘要： A cell search apparatus and method in an OFDM mobile communication system are provided. In the cell search apparatus, a symbol synchronization acquirer acquires OFDM symbol synchronization by performing CP correlation for a plurality of OFDM symbol intervals. A frame cell synchronization acquirer sorts received OFDM symbols according to the acquired OFDM symbol synchronization, and acquires frame cell synchronization by performing preamble correlation for a plurality of frame cell intervals. A pilot pattern detector sorts received frame cells according to the acquired frame cell synchronization, and detects a pilot pattern for identifying a base station by monitoring a plurality of frame cells.
