摘要： Method and apparatus for performing communication between a Base Station (BS) and a Mobile Station (MS) in a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) communication system. A method includes determining, by the BS, a Pseudo Random Bit Sequence Identifier (PRBS_ID) for renumbering subchannels in a predetermined Partial Usage of SubChannels (PUSC) zone among a plurality of PUSC zones in a downlink (DL) frame, and transmitting, by the BS, the PRBS_ID to the MS within a Space Time Coding Zone Information Element (STC_ZONE_IE) of a DL MAP message included in the DL frame.

摘要： A method for providing a single-frequency network (SFN) service between a base station (BS) and a mobile station (MS) in a wireless communication system. The BS sets a first segment indicator in a medium access control (MAC) message field before transmission, if a resource allocation scheme corresponds to general data transmission. The BS sets a second segment indicator in the MAC message before transmission, if the resource allocation scheme corresponds to single frequency-based data transmission. The MS receives the MAC message from the BS, and performs renumbering according to the first segment indicator or the second segment indicator included in the received MAC message.

摘要： A method for allocating a subchannel in a transmitter of an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) cellular communication system in which an entire frequency band includes a plurality of bands, each of the bands includes a plurality of bins, and each of the bins includes a plurality of subcarriers. The method includes dividing a predetermined time interval into an Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) subchannel time interval and a diversity subchannel time interval; selecting any one of the plurality of bands in the AMC subchannel time interval; selecting a predetermined number of bins among the plurality of bins in the selected band; and allocating the selected bins to the AMC subchannel.

摘要： An apparatus and a method for controlling uplink power utilizing an open-loop scheme in a mobile communication system using a TDD scheme. According to the apparatus and the method, an AT determines initial uplink transmit power and transmits uplink signals to an AP using the determined initial uplink transmit power, receives downlink signals from the AP, detects a power compensation value compensating for the uplink transmit power, which are determined according to whether an error has occurred in the uplink signals, measures receive power of the downlink signals, and adjusts the uplink transmit power according to the receive power and the power compensation value.

In a broadband wireless access communication system utilizing an OFDM/OFDMA scheme, in which uplink time sync between a BS and a SS and the intensity of a BS reception signal are set, and a ranging signal is transmitted from the SS to the BS in order that the SS gives a bandwidth request to the BS. Described herein are a method for constructing a ranging channel, a method for a BS's operating a ranging channel to be used by a SS, a method for receiving ranging codes transmitted SS by SS from the BS to the SS through the ranging channel.

摘要： An apparatus and method for transmitting a processing result on a received data frame in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) mobile communication system. The method includes selecting an orthogonal codeword corresponding to the processing result among predetermined orthogonal codewords, and transmitting the selected orthogonal codeword through at least one subcarrier group assigned for transmitting the processing result. A length of the orthogonal codeword is determined according to a number of symbol units included in the subcarrier group, and the predetermined orthogonal codewords are orthogonal with each other.

摘要： An apparatus and method for cell acquisition and downlink synchronization acquisition in an OFDMA wireless communication system are provided. In an SS apparatus in a broadband wireless communication system, a preamble subcarrier acquirer extracts subcarrier values having a preamble code from an FFT signal. A multiplier code-demodulates the subcarrier values by multiplying the subcarrier values by a preamble code. A correlator calculates a plurality of differential correlations in the code-demodulated signal. An IFFT processor IFFT-processes the differential correlations by mapping the differential correlations to subcarriers. A maximum value detector detects a maximum value from the IFFT signal and calculates a timing offset using an IFFT output index having the maximum value.
