Abstract: A user equipment, method, and chipset use a first formula to determine a paging frame which is a radio frame including a paging occasion for the user equipment after the user equipment is configured with an idle mode extended DRX (Discontinuous Reception) cycle, a second formula to determine a subframe from among the paging frame, as the paging occasion, and a third formula to determine a paging hyper-frame. DRX parameters are applied to the first formula and the second formula, but not to the third formula. An idle mode extended DRX cycle is applied to the third formula, which is represented by H-SFN mod TeDRX=α mod TeDRX, where the H-SFN represents a hyper-frame number of the paging hyper-frame, the TeDRX represents the number of the hyper-frames corresponding to the idle mode extended DRX cycle, and the α represents a value specific to the user equipment.

The controller is configured to notify, in the first processing or the third processing, the base station of an amount of uplink data in a transmission buffer of the radio terminal.

The use terminal includes: a receiver configured to receive a measurement instruction to instruct measurement in an unlicensed band, from a base station; a controller configured to, in response to reception of the measurement instruction, search for a radio signal transmitted in a frequency channel included in the unlicensed band, and measure reception power of the radio signal detected by the search, even when a cell identifier of a measurement target cell is not designated in the measurement instruction; and a transmitter configured to transmit a measurement report including an identifier of a transmission source of the detected radio signal and a measurement result of the reception power, to the base station.

Abstract: A radio terminal according to an embodiment comprises: a controller configured to control traffic steering between an Evolved-Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) and a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). The controller is configured to control traffic steering from the E-UTRAN to the WLAN or from the WLAN to the E-UTRAN according to at least one of a first scheme and a second scheme. The radio terminal further comprises a receiver configured to receive, from the E-UTRAN, first assistance information to be used to determine whether the radio terminal executes the traffic steering in the first scheme. The first assistance information is broadcasted by the E-UTRAN. The receiver is configured to receive, from the E-UTRAN, WLAN configuration information including a list of identifiers of the WLAN and a timer value indicating a period over which the WLAN configuration information should be held.

Abstract: A base station according to one embodiment is configured to perform communication with a radio terminal and a wireless wide area network (WWAN) system. The base station comprises a controller configured to transmit first configuration information with which the radio terminal configures a measurement report in the radio terminal. The measurement report is a report of a measurement result about a signal transmitted by a wireless local area network (WLAN) system from an access point. The first configuration information includes a predetermined identifier associated with a group of access points to be measured by the radio terminal. The predetermined identifier is associated with an identifier of each of the access points in the group. The group is a group in which the radio terminal is capable of steering among access points without being dependent on a command from the base station.

Abstract: A communication method including transmitting, from a radio terminal connected to a cell to a base station managing the cell operated in a first frequency, a first message that a discovery signal is transmitted for public safety in a second frequency; receiving, by the base station, the first message; and transmitting, from the base station to the radio terminal, a second message including information on radio resources to be used in transmission of the discovery signal in the second frequency, based on the first message. The method further includes transmitting, from the base station to the radio terminal, first information and second information. The first information indicates a threshold value for determining whether or not the radio terminal transmits the first message. The radio terminal uses the second information to determine whether or not the radio terminal is allowed to transmit the first message.
