摘要: An optical disc having a protection layer for protecting a recording layer located farther from a substrate and having a first recording layer and a second recording layer stacked on one side of the substrate, wherein the reflectance of one of the first and second recording layers is made higher than the reflectance of the other recording layer, and a reproducing device which uses this optical disc. The reproducing device casts a light beam emitted from a single light source onto the first recording layer or the second recording layer via a single objective lens, discriminates which of the first recording layer and the second recording layer the light beam emitted from the light source is cast on, on the basis of the result of detection of a reflected beam from the first recording layer or the second recording layer, moves the objective lens in a direction parallel to the optical axis of the objective lens on the basis of the result of discrimination, and condenses the light beam on the first recording layer or the second recording layer so as to carry out reproduction of information.

摘要: A radiation image storage panel comprises at least a substrate and a phosphor layer overlaid upon the substrate. The phosphor layer contains a binder, a phosphor, and at least one kind of organic phosphorus compound represented by Formula (1): (R)nPO(OM)3−n  (1) in which R represents an alkyl group, an aryl group, or a heterocyclic group, which may be optionally substituted by a substituent; M represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, or —N+(R1)4, where R1 represents an alkyl group having at most two carbon atoms; and n represents an integral number of 1 or 2. The radiation image storage panel exhibits enhanced dispersibility of phosphor particles and a high sensitivity and yields little noise.

摘要: An optical recording medium for accurately deriving the address information or the disc rotation control information despite narrow track pitch and for recording signals to a high density, and a method and apparatus for recording and/or reproducing such optical recording medium. The optical recording medium has a wobbled groove and pits formed at a pre-set interval in an area between turns of the wobbled groove. The recording/reproducing method includes controlling rotation of the optical recording medium by a wobbled signal from the groove and detecting the position on the optical recording medium of a recording signal by pit signals detected from the pits. The recording/reproducing apparatus includes a detection device for detecting the wobbled signal from the groove and a detection device for detecting pit signals from the pits. The rotation of the optical recording medium is controlled by the wobbled signals detected from the groove and the position on the optical recording medium of the recording signal is detected by the pit signal detected from the pits.

摘要: A pedometer determines that the user does not wear the pedometer when the current number of steps is not more than a prescribed set value, not to employ the data of the current number of steps on the day the user does not wear the pedometer for calculating an average number of steps. If the current number of steps is in excess of the set value, the pedometer determines that the user wears the pedometer for adding the current number of steps to the total number of steps, adding 1 to the number of days and dividing the total number of steps by the number of days for calculating an average number of steps per day. Consequently, a pedometer having a function of displaying the average number of steps per day, which can not only maintain correctness of the average number of steps but also keep the user interested in exercise even if the user forgets wearing the pedometer, can be provided.

摘要: Hydraulic pressure generated by an oil pump driven by an engine is regulated to a secondary pressure by means of a secondary pressure control valve. The secondary pressure is employed for controlling a secondary pulley and a primary pulley. On the other hand, the secondary pressure is reduced to a clutch pressure by means of a clutch pressure control valve. The communication between an apply chamber and a release chamber of a torque converter, oil chambers of actuators for a forward clutch and a reverse brake of a forward and reverse changeover apparatus and a clutch pressure line and a lubrication pressure line are controlled by means a switching valve. The clutch pressure is regulated to a high clutch pressure and to a low clutch pressure, respectively by controlling reverse signal pressures supplied to these outer pilot chambers. Thus, respective hydraulic controls for the pulleys, the lockup clutch and the forward and reverse changeover apparatus can be performed independently by use of a single hydraulic pressure source.

摘要: An airbag system for a front passenger's seat of the top-mount type according to the invention is arranged in an instrument panel below a windshield. The front passenger's seat airbag system is constructed to include a door, a case and an airbag. The door is arranged on the upper face of the instrument panel. The case houses and holds the airbag in a folded state. The airbag, as housed in the case, is expanded by injecting an inflating gas into a gas inlet port so that the airbag protrudes to open the door and inflate towards the rear side of a vehicle along the windshield. The airbag is equipped with a commutator cloth arranged to cover the gas inlet port. This commutator cloth is arranged to close the two sides in the transverse direction of the vehicle and to open the two sides in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. This front passenger's seat airbag system reduces the expansion rate of the airbag towards the rear of the vehicle.
