摘要: A method of the present invention, for driving a liquid crystal display device includes the step of applying, when spray-bend transition of liquid crystal molecules is completed, a constant voltage to a storage capacitor electrode so that an electric potential difference between a pixel electrode and a common electrode becomes greater than an electric potential difference between the pixel electrode and another pixel electrode adjacent to said pixel electrode when application of a voltage for the spray-bend transition of the liquid crystal molecules is stopped.

摘要: A coding apparatus generates coded data by coding inputted data in a predetermined unit basis, maps one or more units of the coded data onto a packet of fixed length and outputs the packet. The coding apparatus includes a storage unit that stores the coded data and outputs the data size of the stored coded data, and a packetization unit that maps the coded data stored in the storage unit onto the packet and outputs the header size assigned to the one or more units of the coded data and the payload size of the packet. The coding apparatus also includes a control unit that generates the control information based on the data size of the outputted coded data, the header size and the payload size and outputs the control information, and a coding unit that generates the coded data by calculating an outer candidate value that makes the data size of the coded data to be mapped onto the packet an integral multiple of the payload size of the packet based on the outputted control information and coding the predetermined units of inputted data up to the outer candidate value.

摘要: A noted image information extraction section 31 specifies a region of a noted image in an original image, and noted image information containing information relating to position and size of the noted image WMM region within the original image is extracted. Continuing on, mask image formation means 31 forms a mask image by displaying superimposed on the original image, based on noted image information and mask image information registered in a mask image information file. As a result, a mask image comprised of element images selected using element image selection information contained in mask image information is formed at a specified position and specified size in the noted image region of the original image. A composite image having the mask image superimposed on the original image is then formed by composite image formation means 33. As a result, an image that a user has rendered in an original image is simply and appropriately formed, regardless of whether it is a still image or a moving picture.

摘要: A plasma display panel in which projections are formed in grooves between partitions and phosphor layers are provided on the projections so as to increase the area where phosphor adheres and thereby to increase the luminance. A couple of substrates are opposed to each other to form a discharge space. Band-like partitions partitioning the discharge space are arranged on the back or front substrate. Wall-like projections lower than the partitions and high enough to increase the area where phosphor layers are formed are provided in the region where the discharge space is formed in the long grooves between the partitions or around the discharge space. Phosphor layers are formed in the grooves between the partitions including the wall-like projections. A method for producing such a plasma display panel is also disclosed.
