The flow paths include at least one pair of flow paths connected to an associated pressure chamber in a symmetrical manner and include flow paths overlapping with each other with respect to a direction from an associated ejection outlet toward the substrate.

    摘要: A liquid ejection head includes ejection orifices allowing liquid to be ejected therethrough, passages communicating with the ejection orifices and the pressure chambers each accommodating an energy generating element generating energy for ejecting the liquid therein, a supply port supplying the liquid to the passages, and a filter including substantially cylindrical members between the supply port and passages and having openings. Each of the ejection orifices has a substantially circular cross section having larger and smaller diameters substantially perpendicularly to its liquid ejecting direction. Each of the openings has a substantially rectangular cross section having longer and shorter sides substantially perpendicularly to its liquid supplying direction. The relationships D1>L1, D1 L2≧D1 are satisfied where D1 is the smaller diameter, D2 is the larger diameter, L1 is the shorter side, and L2 is the longer side.

    摘要: A method is provided which is intended to reduce a visibility of ink dots ejected onto a print medium during a preliminary ejection operation to produce a satisfactory printed image. Preliminary ejection data is compared with image data. When the preliminary ejection is necessarily performed on a pixel that has no image data, image data of a pixel close to the pixel being processed is searched. When image data exists, the image data is moved to a pixel that has preliminary ejection data. The preliminary ejection data is added to the image data one scan at a time to perform printing.

    摘要: In an ink-jet printing method and ink-jet printer for printing an image on a printing medium by driving print elements of a printhead and ejecting ink in accordance with an image signal, the timing of driving the plurality of print elements of the printhead is divided into a plurality of timings, and print elements, of the plurality of print elements, which are spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance are selected as one group at each of the plurality of timings. The print elements belonging to the selected group are energized and driven. The dispersed print elements are changed a predetermined period of time after the driving, and the changed print elements are driven. This driving operation is repeatedly executed for all the print elements of the printhead to print an image corresponding to the image signal.

    摘要: A liquid discharge head which comprises an element substrate having on one surface thereof energy generating element for generating energy to be utilized for discharging liquid from a liquid discharge port, and a liquid supply port communicated with the liquid discharge port, a printed substrate provided with an external fetch electrode, and an IC component for control use for the energy generating element having provided therefor an output side electrode connected with the energy generating element and an input side electrode connected with the external fetch electrode. For this liquid discharge head, at least the aforesaid output side electrode of the IC component for control use is provided for the one surface of the element substrate. With the structure thus arranged, it is made easier to elongate the liquid discharge head in higher precision, and also, as compared with the case where the driver (driving element) for the discharge energy generating element is incorporated on the assembling substrate, the nondefective ratio of the finished products thereof is enhanced, hence contributing to the manufacture at lower costs.
