    摘要： In an electronic device including a temperature sensor and an electronic component which is a heat generation source, the temperature is measured while the influence of heat from the electronic component is reduced. The electronic device includes: a base formed of a resin material; a board which is disposed at one side of the base, and includes an electronic component and a temperature sensor; and a heat sink which is disposed at the other side of the base for dissipating heat generated by the electronic component. The heat sink includes an extension part extending from the other side of the base toward a position of the board at which the electronic component is provided.

    摘要： An optical pickup device has a DVD/CD laser diode for emitting a DVD/CD laser beam as linear polarized light, and a BD laser diode for emitting a BD laser beam. The optical pickup device has a dichroic mirror that regularly reflects a part of the DVD/CD laser beam, transmits a part of the DVD/CD laser beam, and transmits return light of the BD laser beam. The dichroic mirror is formed so that a product of reflectance of outward light of the DVD/CD laser beam and transmittance of return light of the DVD/CD laser beam becomes 20% or more to 25% or less. A light receiving element receives the return light of the DVD/CD laser beam transmitted through the dichroic mirror or the return light of the BD laser beam transmitted through the dichroic mirror.

    摘要： An optical disc drive according to the present invention can read data from any of multiple types of optical discs, of which the information storage layers are located at mutually different depths under their surface. When this drive is loaded with an optical disc, the servo controller of the drive changes a first type of drive signal to adjust a focus position by changing distances from the lens to the disc and/or a second type of drive signal to adjust tilt of the lens by changing the angles defined by the lens with respect to the disc a number of times, thereby changing settings to be determined by a combination of the focus position and the tilt. A signal quality rater measures multiple index values to rate the quality of a reflected light signal as the settings are changed. Then, the optical disc drive recognizes the type of the given optical disc based on those index values and reads data from the optical disc recognized.

    摘要： The image reading apparatus of this invention reads a desired image out of an original document with a CCD 1, edits a desired area of the thus read image with an edit processing part 4, and causes the edited area to be copied without being subjected to negative-positive inversion. The edit processing part 4 sets an optimum density severally for an area requiring negative-positive inversion and for an area not requiring negative-positive inversion. Thus, necessary information existing in the area of image and the area outside the image can be printed out without causing the formation of a completely black frame and density of the print can be optimized without discrimination between these areas.
