摘要: An improved structure of a smoke generator including a housing and a pump accommodated in the housing. The pump pumps a chemical solution in a container via a solution duct to a heating vaporization device. The heating vaporization device includes two opposed disposed heat insulation rings, a heating tube, and a power source. The heat insulation rings are metal rings of good electrical conductivity and have a periphery provided with a plurality of ring holes. A plurality of metal conductive wires each have two ends respectively connected to the opposedly arranged ring holes, with a coil formed in a center of each heat insulation ring. The heating tube is a metal tube of a high resistance coefficient and is mounted intermediate of the heat insulation rings. A solution inlet and a smoke ejecting end at both ends of the heating tube pass through and are secured in the coils on the same side. A vaporization section of the heating tube is disposed intermediate of the solution inlet and smoke ejecting end and configured to be winding. The solution inlet receives the solution transported via the solution duct to allow the solution to undergo vaporization in the vaporization section. Smoke formed within the vaporization section is ejected via the smoke ejecting end. The power source is pivotally connected to a circuit board and is further connected to the pump and the heating vaporization device to achieve connection of a control circuit. Two connecting wires of the circuit board are respectively connected to the heat insulation rings so that electric currents pass through the lead wires, coils, and the heating tube therebetween to achieve connection of the circuit. The heating tube forms resistance to generate high temperature that vaporizes the solution flowing therethrough. The smoke thus generated is ejected from the smoke ejecting end.

摘要: A system and method for determining the data rate of a frame of data at a receiver of a variable rate communications system. A vocoder at a transmitter encodes a frame of data at one of the rates of a predetermined set of rates. The data rate is dependent on the speech activity during the time frame of the data. The data frame is also formatted with overhead bits, including bits for error detection and detection. At the receiver, the data rate for the frame is determined based on hypothesis testing. Because the data rate is based on speech activity, a hypothesis test may be designed based on the statistics of speech activity. The received data frame is first decoded into information bits at the most probable rate as provided by the hypothesis test. Error metrics are generated for the decoded information bits. If the error metrics indicate that the information bits are of good quality, then the information bits are presented to a vocoder at the receiver to be processed for interface with the user. If the error metrics indicate that the information bits have not been properly decoded, then the received data frame is decoded at the other rates of the set of rates until the actual data rate is determined.

摘要: In a communication system capable of variable rate transmission, multi-level scheduling improves utilization of the reverse link and decreases the transmission delay in data communication. Multi-level scheduling comprises base station level scheduling, selector level (system level) scheduling, and network level scheduling. Network level scheduling is performed for base station in soft handoff with base stations which are controlled by different selector scheduler. Selector level scheduling is performed for remote stations in soft handoff with base stations which are controlled by the same selector scheduler. And base station level scheduling is performed for remote stations not in soft handoff. Base station level scheduled is performed using residual capacity after higher level scheduling have been performed. Each scheduling level can have different scheduling interval.

摘要: In a communication system capable of variable rate transmission, scheduling of high speed data transmission improves utilization of the reverse link and decreases the transmission delay in data communication. Each remote station is assigned a maximum unscheduled transmission rate for the duration of the communication with a cell. A maximum scheduled transmission rate can be assigned by a channel scheduler for scheduled transmission of data traffic at high rates. The maximum scheduled transmission rate is assigned in accordance with a set of system goals, a list of system constraints, and collected information on the status of the communication network. Data is partitioned in data frames and transmitted over the reverse link at or below the maximum scheduled transmission rate which have been assigned to the scheduled user.

摘要: An external-electrode fluorescent lamp has two external electrodes disposed on its ends, wherein each external electrode has an extended portion flattened to form two substantially flat circumferential areas. With such flattened circumferential areas, the electric contact made to the conductive strip can be improved. For mounting a row of external-electrode fluorescent lamps, a mounting base with two electrically conductive strips are used. Each electrically conductive strip has a plurality of curved sections to fit the extended portion of the external electrode. The curved section has two substantially sidewalls to make contact with the flat circumferential areas of the extended portion of the external electrode. The extended portion can also be slightly tapered.

摘要: A scattering module and a backlight module comprising the scattering module are provided. The backlight module includes a plurality of light sources, while the scattering module includes a plurality of scattering elements. The scattering elements are disposed correspondingly to the light sources so that the scattering elements have different linearly arranged densities in different directions. Thereby, the light generated from the backlight module would be projected onto the display panel evenly with a uniform brightness.
