摘要： The control cable for a rockable forceps elevator of a side-looking endoscope has an elastomeric sleeve covering the exterior part of the cable from the endoscope head to the connection of the cable with the elevator. Seals are effected between the sleeve and the wall and between the sleeve and the distal end of the cable. An elongated shield is spaced from the control cable and extends proximally and parallel to the cable, to deflect the forceps or other flexible instrument emerging from the endoscope, and to protect the sleeve and cable from contact with the forceps.

The fitting has a tubular luer lock device and a retaining ring surrounding the tubular device. The seal is unitarily molded of a soft elastomer and has a double seal arrangement formed of an apertured end wall and a one-way-opening slitted plate or web behind the end wall. A distal end of the seal fits over the tubular luer lock device. This distal end has a radial cuff that seals against a flat transverse surface of the retaining ring and a frustoconic tapered protruding member which fits against a similar inner surface of the retaining ring to ensure that the cuff sealably engages the retaining ring under overpressure conditions. 摘要： A gage mechanism for a blood pressure measuring device or other similar apparatus includes a supported shaft member having one end in contact with an inflatable bellows. A pointer is attached at an opposite end of the shaft and a helically wound spring is attached to the shaft and a supporting structure. As the bellows inflates, the shaft is axially displaced and causes rotation due to the constraint of the helical ribbon spring, causing a corresponding angular deflection of the attached pointer relative to an indicating scale. The mechanism includes a first adjustment member for allowing the pointer to be preset to a zero or calibrated position, and a second adjustment mechanism that controls the amount of angular rotation of the shaft and pointer for a displacement of the bellows.

摘要： Apparatus for use with a light box having a high output light source contained within a housing includes a rotatable turret assembly capable of supporting a corresponding number of optical fiber bundles. The turret assembly is eccentrically mounted relative to an illumination axis of the contained light source. A glass rod is fixedly disposed at substantially the focal point of an exiting beam of the light source along the illumination axis, allowing each of the supported fiber bundles to be selectively rotated into and out of alignment to provide efficient light coupling while preventing premature degradation of the optical fibers while electrically isolating the turret assembly.

A brake disc is mounted adjacent the control wheel and is moved in and out of engagement with the wheel by an actuator. A plurality of spring loaded detent pins are slidably carried within the control wheel for engaging a series of depressions in the brake disk to form a restraining ratchet mechanism.

摘要： A flexible borescope for penetrating a passage into an inaccessible area of a jet engine or other device to be visually inspected has an imaging system disposed at its distal tip, and conducts the image to a viewing device coupled to a proximal end of the insertion tube. A hooking cap can be controllably latched onto and removed from a projection in the inaccessible area, for example, the trailing edge of one of the blades of a turbine rotor. The hooking cap has a circumferential sleeve portion that overfits the borescope tip and wing portions that project tangentially outward from the sleeve so their wing tips substantially meet. The wing tips hook over the projection. The hooking cap is formed unitarily of aluminum sheet, with tabs that engage respective shoulders formed in the borescope tip for positioning the cap rotationally and axially.

摘要： A terminator for a fluid actuated muscle has an axial bore and a removable seal pin that fits into an elastomeric tubular liner in the bore. The pin has a flattened outer end with a hole through it to facilitate extraction. The pin is removed to facilitate bleeding of air or other gases when the muscle is filled with hydraulic fluid. The pin can be held in place by a cable terminator that is fitted into the muscle terminator.
