A method is provided for receiving a multimedia broadcast single frequency network measurement request (32); and measuring, at a user equipment, multimedia broadcast single frequency network parameters, wherein the multimedia broadcast single multimedia broadcast single frequency network measurement is independent of the user equipment radio resource control state (34).
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for reporting blindly configured carrier aggregation secondary cells. In one aspect there is provided a method. The method may include detecting, by the user equipment, a secondary cell configured for the user equipment to allow access for carrier aggregation, wherein the secondary cell is blindly configured by a network before the detecting by the user equipment; and sending, by the user equipment, a report representative of the detected secondary cell to notify the network of the detecting by the user equipment. Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for MBSFN measurements. In one aspect there is provided a method. The method may include receiving, by a user equipment, measurement configuration information indicative of one or more first measurements to be performed on a first set of subframes and one or more second measurements to be performed on a second set of subframes, wherein the first set of subframes are associated with multicast broadcast mobile services and the second set of subframes are associated with non-multicast broadcast mobile services; and performing one or more measurements in accordance with the received measurement configuration information; and reporting one or more first measurement results for the one or more first measurements supplemented with one or more second measurement results for the one or more second measurements. A method, apparatus and software related product (e.g., a computer readable memory) for efficient measurement reporting by UEs to provide, for example, lower UE power consumption, efficient use of network resources, small cell ottloading, etc., in wireless networks such as LTE/LTE-A systems that can be also applied in inter-system cases such as a mix of UTRAN and E-UTRAN as one non-limiting example is presented. The UE performs measurements and event evaluation as in conventional LTE/LTE-A systems, but for certain cells/carriers an event triggered measurement report, which conventionally would be transmitted when time-to-trigger (TTT) expires (see details e.g. in 3GPP TS 36.331), is not transmitted but regarded as buffered (e.g., in a memory or buffered memory of the UE) as a candidate measurement report, when a predefined criterion is not met. This predefined criterion is e.g. a need at the UE to request network resources for uplink transmission by the UE. Thus, a UE being in connected mode but not actively transmitting data, will not report measurements resulting in likely handovers.

Certain embodiments generally relate to background inter-frequency measurement, such as, but not limited to a method and apparatus of background search of small cells. For example, the method may include limiting UE performance/capability to find small cells by relaxing UE performance. The method may also include indicating to the UE as to which carrier to relax performance. The method may further include determining gap configurations in measurement gaps for a plurality of inter-frequency/RAT measurements. The method may also include providing new UE performance requirements and providing autonomous gap configurations by configuring UE to cease listening to serving cell for short time periods. The method may still further include providing new gap configurations.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method, device and computer readable storage medium of communication. The method implemented at a first device comprises receiving, from a second device, a message for bandwidth part switching for the first device, the message triggering the first device to activate a measurement gap configuration, the measurement gap configuration indicating one or more measurement gaps. The method further comprises delaying to apply at least one measurement gap of the one or more measurement gaps. In this way, the delay of the bandwidth part switching procedure is controllable and predictable for both the first and the second device, and further the required necessary interaction after the bandwidth part switching is ensured thereby, while the new measurement gap configuration may be activated as soon as possible.
