摘要: A system for transferring 3D video information has a transmitter (100) to broadcast a signal (104) to a receiver (110). The 3D video information includes auxiliary data for display in an overlay area on the 3D video data, like subtitles. The 3D video data has a left view and a right view arranged in a 2D frame in a main arrangement, e.g. side-by-side. An auxiliary left and right view of the auxiliary data are arranged in an auxiliary data stream according to a 2D transmission format in an auxiliary arrangement that corresponds to the main arrangement, e.g. also side-by-side. In addition, a 2D version of the auxiliary data and auxiliary disparity data indicative of the disparity to be applied to the 2D version of auxiliary data when overlayed on the left view and the right view is included in the transport stream. Advantageously the receiver may use a suitable version of the auxiliary data based on the receiver processing architecture.

摘要: An image encoding method that allows stereoscopic rendering basically comprises the following steps. In a primary encoding step (VDE1), a visual image is encoded in accordance with a standard. In an auxiliary encoding step (GRE), stereo-enabling data that is associated with the visual image is encoded as if the stereo-enabling data was an auxiliary image that can be combined with the visual image in accordance with the standard concerned. The stereo-enabling data comprises respective values that indicate respective distances between respective areas in the visual image and a virtual observer. In a composition definition step (CTR1), a composition definition is provided that causes a decoding device, which operates in accordance with the standard, to include the stereo-enabling data as a graphics image in at least one specific area of an output image, which can be transmitted to a display device.

摘要: A method and device for storing an interactive television program for playback at a later point in time, wherein said interactive television program comprises at least one interactive television application. The applications are transmitted inside modules (11, 12) through a data carousel (2) within a transport stream (20). The method comprises receiving the transport stream, parsing the stream for application modules and storing them as a storage stream on a storage medium (31). The storage stream is stored separate from said transport stream (20). The data or object carousel is recorded outside the Transport Stream and recorded like a stream, preferably as a single file. This file is a sequence of modules with some header information preceding the modules making playback faster as the information needed to obtain the objects from a module is located directly in the header of that module. Furthermore, the solution according to the invention solution is platform independent.

摘要: A device converts three dimensional [3D] image data arranged for a source spatial viewing configuration to a 3D display signal (56) for a 3D display in a target spatial viewing configuration. 3D display metadata has target width data indicative of a target width W t of the 3D display in the target spatial viewing configuration. A processor (52,18) changes the mutual horizontal position of images L and R by an offset O to compensate differences between the source spatial viewing configuration and the target spatial viewing configuration. The processor (52) retrieves source offset data provided for the 3D image data for calculating the offset O, and determines the offset O in dependence of the source offset data. Advantageously the 3D perception for the viewer is automatically adapted based on the source offset data as retrieved to be substantially equal irrespective of the screen size.

摘要: A 3-D picture is provided as follows. A pair of pictures (LP, RP) is provided that comprises a first picture (LP) being intended for one eye of a viewer, and a second picture (RP) being intended for the other eye of the viewer. In addition, a depth map (DM) specifically dedicated to the first picture (LP) is provided. The depth map (DM) comprises depth indication values. A depth indication value relates to a particular portion of the first picture (LP) and indicates a distance between an object at least partially represented by that portion of the first picture and the viewer. Such a 3-D picture allows a satisfactory 3-D visual rendering on a great variety of display devices. Preferably, the 3-D picture is supplemented with rendering guidance data (GD) that specifies respective parameters for respective rendering contexts. These respective parameters preferably relate to generating a shifted viewpoint picture from the first picture (LP) and the depth map (DM).

摘要: An image processor processes an assembly of data (DDS) that defines an elementary image and a graphics object. The assembly of data (DDS) comprises composition data (CS) that defines a given appearance of the graphics object in an output image, wherein the graphics object overlays a portion of the elementary image. The image processor comprises an occlusion analyzer (OCA) for establishing an occlusion indication (OCS) on the basis of the composition data (CS). The occlusion indication (OCS) specifies an area in the elementary image that the graphics object will occlude in the output image, but which may be de-occluded in a stereoscopic rendering of the output image. An occlusion data generator (ODG) composes an occlusion image on the basis of the occlusion indication (OCS) and the elementary image. The occlusion image represents a portion of the elementary image that corresponds with the area specified by the occlusion indication (OCS).

摘要: A content distribution system (300) has access control according to a predefined data access format. The system has organizations (32) for providing content data and related meta data on record carriers (34), and a rendering device (39), and applications for manipulating the content data and related meta data. An access policy for the organization is set according to the predefined data access format, and has access parameters for controlling access to resources of the rendering device and to said content data and related meta data. An organization application (35) complying with the access policy of the organization for accessing said data is executed while accessing the resources of the rendering device according to the access policy of the organization. According to the invention a user access policy is maintained that restricts, for the organization application, access to the resources of the rendering device relative to the access policy of the organization. The user access policy is adjusted based on additional trust data for selectively allowing the organization application to access the resources according to the access policy of the organization. Hence the user controls the access that applications have to resources of the rendering device.
