摘要: A 3-D picture is provided by providing a pair of pictures that includes a first picture for one eye of a viewer, and a second picture for the other eye of the viewer. In addition, a depth map specifically dedicated to the first picture is provided. The depth map includes depth indication values. A depth indication value relates to a particular portion of the first picture and indicates a distance between an object at least partially represented by that portion of the first picture and the viewer. The 3-D picture is supplemented with rendering guidance data that specifies respective parameters for respective rendering contexts. These respective parameters relate to generating a shifted viewpoint picture from the first picture and the depth map.

摘要: A 3-D picture is provided as follows. A pair of pictures (LP, RP) is provided that comprises a first picture (LP) being intended for one eye of a viewer, and a second picture (RP) being intended for the other eye of the viewer. In addition, a depth map (DM) specifically dedicated to the first picture (LP) is provided. The depth map (DM) comprises depth indication values. A depth indication value relates to a particular portion of the first picture (LP) and indicates a distance between an object at least partially represented by that portion of the first picture and the viewer. Such a 3-D picture allows a satisfactory 3-D visual rendering on a great variety of display devices. Preferably, the 3-D picture is supplemented with rendering guidance data (GD) that specifies respective parameters for respective rendering contexts. These respective parameters preferably relate to generating a shifted viewpoint picture from the first picture (LP) and the depth map (DM).

摘要: A three dimensional [3D] video signal (41) is provided for transferring to a 3D destination device (50). Depth metadata is determined indicative of depths occurring in the 3D video data, which depth metadata includes a near value indicative of depths of video data nearest to a user. The 3D video signal, which comprises the 3D video data, now also includes the depth metadata. The 3D destination device (50) is enabled to retrieve the depth metadata, to provide auxiliary data, and to position the auxiliary data at an auxiliary depth in dependence of the retrieved metadata for displaying the auxiliary data in combination with the 3D video data such that obscuring the auxiliary data by said nearest video data, and/or disturbing effects at the boundary of the auxiliary data, is avoided.

摘要: Three dimensional [3D] image data and auxiliary graphical data are combined for rendering on a 3D display by detecting depth values occurring in the 3D image data and setting auxiliary depth values for the auxiliary graphical data adaptively in dependence of the detected depth values. The 3D image data and the auxiliary graphical data at the auxiliary depth value are combined based on the depth values of the 3D image data. First an area of attention in the 3D image data is detected. A depth pattern for the area of attention is determined, and the auxiliary depth values are set in dependence of the depth pattern.

The signal is rendered by rendering a three-dimensional image from the first image component and the second component, the rendering including rendering the text component in the three-dimensional image, the rendering of the text component including adjusting three-dimensional parameters of the three-dimensional image in the location of the rendered text component.

摘要: A system of processing of three dimensional [3D] image data for display on a 3D display for a viewer is described. 3D display metadata defines spatial display parameters of the 3D display such as depth range supported by the 3D display. Viewer metadata defines spatial viewing parameters of the viewer with respect to the 3D display, such as viewing distance or inter-pupil distance. Source 3D image data arranged for a source spatial viewing configuration is processed to generate target 3D display data for display on the 3D display in a target spatial viewing configuration. First the target spatial configuration is determined in dependence of the 3D display metadata and the viewer metadata. Then, the source 3D image data is converted to the target 3D display data based on differences between the source spatial viewing configuration and the target spatial viewing configuration.

摘要: An apparatus that contains an instruction processing circuit (14), a main memory (18) addressable by the instruction processing circuit (14) and a cache memory (16). In a normal mode the cache memory (16) is used to cache a part of data and/or instructions that the instruction processing circuit (14) addresses in the main memory (18) during execution, and to substitute cached data and/or instructions when the instruction processing circuit (14) addresses the data and/or instructions in the main memory (18). The circuit is able to switch to a low power operating mode. Upon the switch an interrupt program for executing a function during operation in the low power operating mode is loaded into the cache memory (16) from the main memory (18). Power supply to the main memory (18) is then switched off, but keeping at least a part of the cache memory (16) continuous to receive power supply. This part ensures that the program of instructions for executing the function is available to the instruction processing circuit. The program is executed from said at least part of the cache memory (16) in the low power operating mode.
