Abstract:
A method for cell reselection by a wireless communication device is described. The method includes camping on a serving cell in idle mode. A neighbor cell is detected. A serving cell rank is computed for the serving cell. A neighbor cell rank is computed for the neighbor cell based on multimedia broadcast multicast service metrics. Cell reselection is determined based on the serving cell rank and the neighbor cell rank.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure a parameter associated with a secondary cell group. The UE may perform an optimization response action for a dual connectivity mode of a first frequency parameter or a second frequency parameter when the parameter satisfies a threshold, wherein the optimization response action is associated with whether the secondary cell group is operating with the first frequency parameter or the second frequency parameter. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
Aspects are provided which allow a UE to disable measurements of reference signals from 5G base stations which are inapplicable to EN-DC. The UE may receive a reference signal from a base station. The UE may identify a frequency range. The UE may determine whether to measure the reference signal based on whether the reference signal is within the identified frequency range. The UE may refrain from measuring the reference signal in response to the determination. The UE may also refrain from measuring the reference signal in response to a SIB received at the UE not including a ULI, or in response to a frequency associated with the reference signal not being in a list of supported bands for EN-DC. As a result, inter-RAT handovers from LTE base stations to 5G base stations are prevented, UE power consumption is thereby saved, and support for EN-DC is maintained.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A system may support techniques for triggering user equipment (UE) assistance information (UAI) based on mobility, wake up signal (WUS) configuration, or both. In some cases, a UE may communicate with a network node (e.g., a base station) on a first channel according to a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration. The UE may determine that a speed of the UE satisfies a mobility threshold and may transmit UAI requesting one or more updated DRX configuration parameters based on the speed of the UE satisfying the mobility threshold. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may receive signaling configuring the UE to monitor for WUSs and may transmit UAI requesting one or more updated DRX configuration parameters based on the WUS configuration. The UE may receive control signaling configuring the DRX configuration with the one or more requested parameters in response to the UAI.
Abstract:
A method of wireless communication, by a user equipment (UE), includes setting up a secondary cell group (SCG) with a second radio access technology (RAT) that differs from a first RAT associated with a master cell group (MCG). The method also includes communicating wirelessly via the secondary cell group and the master cell group. The method further includes predicting a radio link failure (RLF) for the secondary cell group based on multiple inputs to a machine learning model. The method still further includes routing data transmission from the secondary cell group to the master cell group, after predicting the SCG RLF.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a control message indicating a resource configuration for uplink and downlink transmissions. The UE may determine an uplink buffer threshold for a modem buffer of the UE based on the resource configuration. The UE may transmit, to the base station, a feedback request message requesting that the base station provide feedback for at least one previously transmitted uplink packet based on a comparison of an amount of previously transmitted uplink data and scheduled uplink data stored in the modem buffer relative to the uplink buffer threshold. The UE may receive, based on transmitting the feedback request message, a feedback response message corresponding to a first previously transmitted uplink packet of the at least one previously transmitted uplink packet.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, control signaling for communications in a wireless communications system. The control signaling may indicate a first duration for an inactivity timer. The UE may initiate the inactivity timer and a second timer based on identifying a period of inactivity. The second timer may have a second duration that is shorter than the first duration for the inactivity timer. In some examples, the second duration may be based on one or more parameters, such as a display status, a battery status, a scaling factor, the first duration, an application state, or any combination thereof. The UE may release a connection for the communications in the wireless communications system based on an expiration of the second timer, an expiration of the inactivity timer, or a combination thereof.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may establish a first call associated with a first subscriber of the UE. The UE may establish a second call associated with a second subscriber of the UE, wherein the first subscriber and the second subscriber are active contemporaneously, and wherein the first call and the second call are associated with a first radio access technology (RAT). The UE may identify a mobility event that associated with an interruption to at least one of the first call and the second call, the mobility event involving switching the first subscriber to a second RAT. The UE may perform a mitigation action. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive a downlink transmission from a first cell, where the downlink transmission includes information for performing one or more actions associated with a second cell. The UE may identify a satisfaction of a trigger condition associated with one or more parameters at the UE based on a power level of the UE being less than or equal to a threshold power level, a throughput at the UE being less than or equal to a threshold throughput, or both. The UE may additionally identify at least one bandwidth associated with the second cell based on a previous wireless connection. The UE may compare, the at least one bandwidth associated with the second cell with a threshold bandwidth. The UE may then perform at least one action associated with a procedure based on the comparing.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described in relation to a Multiple Subscriber Identify Module (MSIM) user equipment (UE). The UE associated with multiple network subscriptions may determine a first timing of a first set of paging occasions associated with a first network subscription of the multiple network subscriptions, wherein the first network subscription is associated with a first network; determine a second timing of a second set of paging occasions associated with a second network subscription of the multiple network subscriptions, wherein the second network subscription is associated with a second network; compare the first timing and the second timing; detect a paging time adjustment condition based on the comparing; and based on the detecting, transmit to the first network, the second network or both a random access signal using a random access resource configured to convey a paging time adjustment request.
