摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to initiate a first setup procedure with a first cell supported by a base station. The UE may determine a system information block (SIB) read failure, a radio link failure, or both, based on initiating the first setup procedure. The UE may determine whether a link quality metric associated with communications between the UE and the first cell satisfies a link quality threshold. The UE may select a cell bar time based on a type of a communications service established via the base station, whether the link quality metric satisfies the link quality threshold, or both. The UE may then initiate a cell reselection procedure based on the cell bar time.

摘要: Various embodiments include methods, components and wireless devices configured to identify illegitimate base station. The processor of the wireless device may determine that a device in communication with the wireless device is a suspect base station. The processor may send a fabricated message to the device, and may receive one or more response messages from the device. The processor may determine whether one or more of the response messages received from the device is an appropriate response or an inappropriate response to the fabricated message. In response to determining that a response message is an inappropriate response, the processor may determine that the device is an illegitimate base station. In response to determining that the device is an illegitimate base station, the wireless device may perform a protective action.

More specifically, the methods, systems, and devices support extending capability signaling to support higher modulation order baseband capability, such as higher order quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM), for example, 1024QAM. By way of example, a user equipment (UE) may transmit UE capability information to a base station (e.g., eNodeB (eNB), next-generation NodeB ((gNB)) in a connection establishment procedure. The UE capability information may include a UE category identifier and a baseband capability parameter. The baseband capability parameter may indicate a scaling factor for a first modulation order of a plurality of available modulation orders. The UE may communicate with the base station over multiple layers using corresponding modulation orders for the multiple layers.

The UE may identify a satisfaction of a trigger condition associated with one or more parameters at the UE based on a power level of the UE being less than or equal to a threshold power level, a throughput at the UE being less than or equal to a threshold throughput, or both. The UE may additionally identify at least one bandwidth associated with the second cell based on a previous wireless connection. The UE may compare, the at least one bandwidth associated with the second cell with a threshold bandwidth. The UE may then perform at least one action associated with a procedure based on the comparing.

An example method includes determining, based on an indication received in a narrowband signal on a narrowband region of a bandwidth comprising a plurality of narrowband regions, whether to wait for a delay period, determined based on a configuration received from a network entity, before releasing a radio resource control (RRC) connection and releasing the RRC connection at a time in accordance with the determination.
