    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Signaling of a radio frequency (RF) band associated with a synchronization signal (SS) block detected by a user equipment (UE) may be transmitted to a base station. For example, a base station may transmit a set of SS blocks to multiple UEs, where the SS blocks are frequency division multiplexed such that each SS block is transmitted in a respective RF band. A UE may receive one or more of the transmitted SS blocks and determine a preferred SS block from the received SS blocks. The UE may in turn transmit an message to the base station that indicates the RF band of the preferred SS block. In some cases, the base station may optionally transmit a request to the UE to transmit the indication of the RF band.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless node may transmit directional signals in a sweeping transmission pattern while receiving communications from a second wireless node. Another wireless node may then, during a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure, receive one of the directional signals, and terminate a correspondence communication session to avoid potential interference. Additionally or alternatively, a wireless node may listen in directions in a sweeping receive pattern while transmitting to a second wireless node. While listening, the wireless node may detect a transmission from a third wireless node in a particular direction. The wireless node may then accordingly refrain from transmitting in that direction to avoid potential interference.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may transmit a phase noise correction reference signal (PC-RS) and a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) during a symbol period of a subframe. A user equipment (UE) may identify a first channel information using the PC-RS and the CSI-RS. The UE may transmit a channel information message to the base station that includes the first channel information. The first channel information may include a phase noise corrected channel measurement. The UE may the CSI-RS during the symbol period. Channel and phase noise estimates may be generated using a joint estimation based on the CSI-RS. The CSI-RS may be repeated periodically. In some cases, the UE may additionally or alternatively receive pilot tones that may include PC-RSs. The joint estimation may be further based on the pilot tones.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates in some aspects to communicating different symbols with different types of cyclic prefixes. For example, a first symbol may have a first type of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) cyclic prefix while a second symbol (e.g., immediately following the first symbol) may have a second type of OFDM cyclic prefix. In scenarios where a cyclic prefix does not include any chips (samples), the beamforming configuration for a transmitter can be changed during the cyclic prefix. At the receiver, the cyclic prefix is reconstructed based on the chips (samples) received during the symbol.
