Abstract: A method and apparatus report channel state information (CSI) feedback of a user equipment (UE) in a coordinated multipoint communication system. The method includes identifying, when downlink transmissions to the UE are configured with at least two CSI subframe subsets, an interference measurement resource within one of the CSI subframe subsets belonging to a CSI reference resource. The method also includes using the identified interference measurement resource to derive an interference measurement. The apparatus includes a controller configured to, when downlink transmissions to the UE are configured with at least two CSI subframe subsets, identify an interference measurement resource within one of the CSI subframe subsets belonging to a CSI reference resource. The controller is configured to use the identified interference measurement resource to derive an interference measurement.

Abstract: A server, method, and computer-readable storage medium for coverage prediction in wireless networks. The server includes a memory storing instructions and a processor operably connected to the memory, which is configured to execute the instructions to cause the server to identify a region of interest (RoI) for the coverage prediction; determine, using a neural network, a set of values for a system performance metric for areas in the RoI, respectively; and generate the coverage prediction for the RoI which associates the areas in the RoI with a determined value in the set of values. The set of values for the system performance metric is determined based on a plurality of data samples for a set of RoIs which include at least one of building height, terrain height, foliage height, clutter data that classifies land cover, line-of-sight indication data, antenna height, and ground truth data for the system performance metric.

Abstract: Reciprocity base frequency division duplex (FDD) multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) downlink (DL) channel Channel-State Information (CSI) acquisition is provided. A base station (BS) includes a transceiver configured to measure uplink (UL) sounding reference signals (SRSs) at a UL carrier frequency, using two polarization components of an antenna array of the BS, and a processor configured to determine a quantity of propagation paths between the BS and a user equipment (UE), for each of the determined propagation paths, extract propagation parameters from the UL SRS measurements, for each of the determined propagation paths, predict a downlink (DL) channel based on the extracted propagation parameters and a DL carrier frequency, and generate a precoding channel matrix for the UE by summing the predicted DL channels for each of the determined propagation paths and for each of the two polarization components of the antenna array of the BS.
