摘要： A helical scan video tape recorder includes a recording device having a head cylinder which carries magnetic heads therewith for rotating the head cylinder and applying incoming video signals to the magnetic heads to record the signals on a magnetic tape. A tape transport mechanism transports the tape while maintaining the tape in sliding contact with the head cylinder. A servo-lock sensing circuit senses a servo-locked condition in the recording device. A system controller responds to a record command entered on an operation board for controlling the tape transport mechanism to transport the tape in one direction to thereby record the video signals on the tape. In response to a record stop command also entered on the operation board, the system controller continuously records the video signals on the tape until a predetermined period of time expires after the entry of the record stop command, then controls the tape transport mechanism to stop transporting the tape, and then returns the tape by a predetermined length in the other direction. Further, upon the entry of the next record command, the system controller controls the tape transport mechanism to transport the tape in the one direction while servo-controlling the recording device and, when the servo-lock sensing circuit senses a servo-locked condition, controls the recording device to record the video signals on the tape. The predetermined period of time is selected such that a position on the tape where the servo-locked condition has been sensed substantially does not precede a position on the tape which is associated with the instant when the record stop command has been entered. A video camera may be implemented by such a video tape recorder and a video signal source which feeds video signals representative of a scene to the recorder by shooting the scene.

摘要： An automatic white balance adjusting method is disclosed in which color difference signals (E.sub.R -E.sub.y) and (E.sub.B -E.sub.y) are respectively integrated over the entire screen and the gains of red and blue signals are controlled so that the respective integration average values of these two color difference signals can coincide with their respective predetermined reference levels. In the integration of the above color difference signals, integration of the color difference signals of chromatic colors is prohibited. In the automatic white balance adjusting method, in order to check whether the respective color difference signals are chromatic colors or not, the respective color difference signals are added together and subtracted from each other to thereby generate color signals (E.sub.R +E.sub.B -2E.sub.y) and (E.sub.R -E.sub.B) and it may be checked whether at least one of these color signals goes beyond threshold levels for removal of chromatic colors respectively set correspondingly to the respective color signals.

摘要： A magnetic recording apparatus such as a still video recording or an electronic camera includes a circuit for detecting a video signal immediately previously recorded on a track of a video disk to detect whether or not dropout exists in the video signal. Upon the detection of dropout, the recorded track is erased and the identical video signal is re-recorded on the same track. While the track is erased and re-recorded upon, dust or other foreign matter causing the dropout will be naturally removed from a magnetic recording head or the video disk so that the re-recorded signal is dropout free.

摘要： A white balance correction circuit for negative-to-positive conversion of television signals includes an imaging device for picking up a negative picture to develop video signals which are respectively indicative of three separated colors. The three separated color signals are processed by three processing circuits which are assigned in one-to-one correspondence thereto. An encoder circuit combines output signals of the respective processing circuits to provide a color composite video signal representative of a positive picture associated with the negative picture. Each of the processing circuits comprises an inversion circuit for inverting one of the three separated video signals associated therewith, and a clamp circuit for maintaining extreme values of the video signal at a first predetermined value, whereby a positive picture having an adjusted luminance is reproduced.
