    Abstract: A network device for a mobile carrier network sends, to a third-party content platform, a client message including a first dedicated subscription parameter extension. The first dedicated subscription parameter extension indicates one or more subscription parameters for a data flow between a user equipment (UE) device that originated the client message and the third-party content platform. The network device receives, from the third-party content platform, a server message including a second dedicated subscription parameter extension. The second dedicated subscription parameter extension confirms the third-party content platform will abide by the one or more subscription parameters. The network device generates, based on the one or more subscription parameters, a policy enforcement rule for the data flow that relies, at least in part, on cooperation of the third-party content platform.

    Abstract: A method is provided for enforcing quality of service parameters. A gateway receives a request for data usage from a mobile device. The gateway sends, to a controller, inquiry for allowed bit rate. Upon receiving a first bit rate value, the gateway sends, to a charging system, request for quota. In response to receiving the quota, the gateway provides data to the mobile device based on the first bit rate value. The gateway provides data to the mobile device until the quota is exhausted. Once a data usage threshold is reached, the gateway receives, from the controller, a second bit rate value. In response to receiving the second bit rate value, the gateway provides data to the mobile device based on the second bit rate value, until an activation-time is reached. When the activation-time is reached, the gateway resets the allowed bit rate from the second bit rate value to the first bit rate value.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for data bandwidth optimization are disclosed. A server receives, from a computing device, a request to begin a network data session. Responsive to receiving the request, the server allows the computing device to access network data at a full speed for a grace time period. Upon expiration of the grace time period, the server allows the computing device to access network data at a reduced speed for a monitoring time period. During the monitoring time period, the server monitors the computing device to determine whether the computing device is accessing network data in bursts or streaming data. Based on whether the computing device is accessing network data in bursts or streaming data, the server either allows the computing device to access network data at the full speed for a waiver time period or allows the computing device to access network data at the reduced speed until completion.

    Abstract: A system may receive, by a first network device in an access network, a request to setup a radio access bearer (RAB) for use in establishing a connection with a user equipment (UE), wherein the request includes at least one Quality-of-Service (QOS) attribute associated with the request. The first network device may determine that the at least one QoS attribute is not supported by the access network and may send a notification that RAB setup has failed to a second network device in a core network, wherein the notification includes a cause indicator that indicates that the failure is caused by an unsupported QoS.     Abstract: A system described herein may receive a first request to establish, modify, or remove a plurality of communication sessions between a User Equipment (“UE”) and a network. The system may output, to a policy element of the network (e.g., a Policy Control Function (“PCF”) or a Policy Charging and Rules Function (“PCRF”)), a second request for policies associated with the UE and the plurality of communication sessions, where the second request includes a plurality of communication session identifiers that are each associated with a particular one of the plurality of communication sessions. The system may receive and enforce the requested policy information when establishing, modifying, or removing the requested plurality of communication sessions based on the received particular policy information. The system may communicate with the policy element via an enhanced interface, such as an enhanced N7 interface or an enhanced Npcf interface.
