摘要: The invention relates to a gluing apparatus which can be used in particular as part of a book casing-in machine. The gluing apparatus includes an application roller for applying a glue layer to a surface to be glued and a dosing roller for dosing the amount of glue. The application roller comprises an axis-parallel depression and the dosing roller comprises an axis-parallel projection engaging in the depression. The profile of the projection (20) of the dosing roller (2) merges from the cylindrical peripheral surface (4) via an involute into a coaxial cylindrical portion (22) of greater diameter while the profile of the depression (10) of the application roller (1) merges from the cylindrical peripheral surface (3) via a curve forming the counter profile to the involute of the projection (20) into a coaxial cylindrical portion (12) of smaller diameter. The configuration of the profiles of the application roller and the dosing roller according to the invention permit simple and economic production of the rollers and ensures that the glue bead can escape upwardly out of the roller gap unrestricted and without any danger of inclusions.

摘要: A filter is provided with a number of elongated filter elements disposed in a pressure vessel. Each element has a filter web extending about the length of the element and fastened at the top and the bottom. Rigid support means are provided inside the filter element in order to support the web. They extend about the length of the element and preferably extend over a part only of the circumference of the element so as to permit the web to perform a limited movement outwards and inwards in radial direction. During the operation the web is pressed against the support means by the inflowing liquid permitting a filter cake to build up at its outside while upon a backwash operation the web moves outwardly away from said support means thus loosening the filter cake. Inlet and outlet means are provided on the pressure vessel. This permits a build-up and easy removal of the filter cake without the use of a bellows type filter web.

摘要: A continuous scalloped stream of paper sheets is divided into a succession of discrete sections by an accelerating device in cooperation with one or more belt conveyors which receive the sections. The accelerating device has an elongated rubber pad attached to an endless chain conveyor which can move the pad into the path of movement of the stream of sheets toward the belt conveyor or conveyors. The belt conveyor(s) and the chain conveyor are accelerated from the speed of the advancing stream to a higher second speed as soon as the trailing end of the section which is about to be separated from the stream is engaged by the trailing end of the pad on the chain conveyor. The chain conveyor and the belt conveyor(s) are decelerated back to the speed of the stream as soon as the entire freshly formed section is transferred onto the belt conveyor(s) and before the fresh leader of the stream reaches the discharge end of the conveyor for the stream. The acceleration of sheets which are to form successive sections to a speed exceeding the speed of the stream prevents the accumulation of piles of overlapping sheets at the leader of the stream upon separation of a section therefrom.

摘要: Filter element for a pressure filter container, composed of a central tube surrounded by a plurality of support tubes for supporting a filter web. The support tubes can be closed or perforated. The space between the central tube and support tubes, as well as the interior in the case of perforated support tubes, serve as flow canal for the filtrate. The use of plastic tubing provides a simple and cost-favorable filter element.

摘要: In a method of cleaning filter elements a removal of filter cakes formed on the filter cloth of the filter elements is accomplished by the application pressure and vacuum in the alternating fashion to the filter elements after the filtration process has been completed. The cleaning effect is improved due to the pressure fluctuations because the filter cloth expands upon those fluctuations and filter cake formed thereon is peeled off that filter cloth.

摘要: A method of aerating liquids, particularly for aerobic growing of microorganisms, has the steps of forming a circumferential stream of liquid, forming a longitudinal stream of liquid, and superimposing these streams so as to form a combined closed spiral-shaped stream. An arrangement is provided in which the circumferential stream is formed by an upright conduit tube and an impeller, the longitudinal stream is formed by a distributing element with a plurality of nozzles, and the superimposing of the streams is attained by fixedly mounting the distributing element relative to the impeller.

摘要: In a color TV tube employing a shadow mask (4), this mask is heated during operation of the tube, and expands, thus causing impact misregistry errors of the electron beams (5) on the phosphor layer (2) of the tube. These misregistry errors are corrected according to the invention with the aid of temperature-dependent accelerating or decelerating fields between the mask (4) and a metal layer (3) deposited on to the phosphor layer (2). Temperature dependance of the fields is obtained by inserting temperature-dependent (PTC and NTC) resistors between the mask and the metal layer.

摘要: Apparatus for the conversion of a stream of partly overlapping sheets into a row of fully overlapping sheets has a first conveyor which transports a growing row of sheets at right angles to the planes of the sheets, and a composite second conveyor which defines a downwardly extending path wherein successive sheets of the stream descend onto the first conveyor to accumulate between spaced-apart distancing elements of the first conveyor. Successive sheets of the stream are engaged and pushed forwardly on the first conveyor by an oscillating pusher which, when retracted, provides room for descent of a sheet onto the first conveyor behind the rearmost sheet of the growing row. The amplitude and/or frequency and/or the end positions of the pusher are adjustable to account for variations in thickness and/or stiffness of sheets in successive streams and/or for differences in friction between the sheets and the second conveyor.
