    摘要: An armature for use in an electric traction motor comprises a rotor having a central portion and a peripheral portion with the peripheral portion having a plurality of cavities. Permanent magnets solidified from liquid magnetic material are disposed in the cavities to form poles of the rotor with at least a portion of the cavities having directly abutting permanent magnets comprised of at least first and second magnetic materials of different properties injected in liquid or mobile form into single cavities. In interface regions between the at least first and second magnetic materials the first and second magnetic materials are intermingled to form a transition zone. A method of making the armature includes injecting the magnetic materials simultaneously as well as injecting a subsequent magnetic material when the initial magnetic material is still fluidly mobile.

    摘要: Apparatus for removing a printed circuit board (PCB) and bezel assembly from a unit includes a pull spring is attached to opposing sides of the PCB and bezel assembly. Each pull spring includes a generally M-shaped spring. A first end of the M-shaped spring includes a first pin carrying a knob. The first pin extends through an opening in the bezel and the knob is disposed within a recessed portion of the bezel and is generally flush with a front face of the bezel with the M-shaped spring compressed in a normal constrained position. In an extended position when the M-shaped springs return to a substantially uncompressed state, the knobs are pushed forward and are spaced apart in front of the bezel, enabling a person to grip and pull each knob to remove the PCB and bezel assembly from the unit in which it is installed.

    摘要: Load test apparatus for shipping containers comprising a horizontal beam (200), the beam having pivotal plate assemblies (210) attached to lifting eyes (330) or other feature of a container by cables (130) or similar means, extending from the pivotal plates to the lifting eyes. The pivotal plates rotate about a horizontal pin (430) permitting the pivotal plates to become axially aligned with the cables. The Horizontal beam is forced vertically upward by a plurality of force generating means such as hydraulic cylinders (120). The force of the force generating means is applied through a point common to the longitudinal axis of the horizontal beam and the axis of the horizontal pin, thereby eliminating moment loads within components of the assembly. The opposite vertically downward reaction force is applied to the bottom of the container and simulates the force applied by the weight of the typical contents of the container when it is in use.

    摘要: An iontophoresis device operable to deliver active agent to a biological interface such as skin or mucous membranes includes the combination of a hydrogel-based wound covering with an iontophoresis device to deliver antibiotic to biological interfaces. The effective concentration of antibiotics from oral or intravenous administration rarely reaches poorly perfused tissues such as cartilage or skin ulcerations resulting in entrenched and difficult to treat infections. Local deliver of additional antibiotic would serve to maintain the effective concentration of drug to the target tissues. Combining an iontophoresis device with a hydrogel-based wound covering to deliver localized antibiotic allows faster wound healing and prevent infection.

    摘要: A process for determining the location of entities carrying transmitters (TXs) that transmit TX ID messages to at least one receiver (RX) connected to a computer, in a network of computers. Each RX sends data messages to its associated computer which includes an identifier identifying the TX transmitting the TX ID message, the signal strength of the received TX ID message, and a RX identifier. Each RX computer generates badge hit messages from each data message, and provides them to a centralized computer of the network. The centralized computer generates a badge hit table having a separate entry for each badge hit message, which has fields including the information received in the badge hit message and a hit time indicating the time the entry was added to the table. The badge hit table data is used to determining the location of the TXs, and so the entities.
