    摘要: A valve operating system for an internal combustion engine includes a valve-opening electromagnet and a valve-closing electromagnet for exhibiting an electromagnetic force for attracting an armature to operate an engine valve, and a valve-opening resilient means and a valve-closing resilient means for maintaining the armature at a predetermined neutral position during deenergization of the electromagnets. In each electromagnet, a coil is inserted between inner and outer yokes which are disposed in the form of a double-cylinder such that they open at their ends opposed to the armature and are magnetically coupled to each other at their ends opposite from the armature, and the coil is positioned so that the coil protrudes from at least one of the yokes toward the armature. The armature has an annular accommodating portion provided in a surface thereof opposed to each the electromagnets and capable of accommodating that portion of the coil which protrudes from the yoke. With such a structure, it is possible to increase the electromagnetic attracting force of each of the electromagnets and to enhance the performance of the engine.

    摘要: The elimination of a steering angle detector from an automatic steering system including an electric motor used as an actuator is accomplished and the steering angle of a wheel is calculated based on the rotational angle of the electric motor. In the electric motor, if a terminal voltage is represented by u; a supplied current is j; a resistance is R; an inductance is L; a rotational angle is .alpha.; and a constant depending on characteristic of the electric motor is K, the terminal voltage u is represented by the following equations: ##EQU1## If this equation is solved with respect to the rotational angle .alpha. and the inductance L having a small value is omitted, the rotational angle .alpha. is given according to the following equation: ##EQU2## The rotational angle .alpha. of the electric motor and the steering angle of the wheel are in a proportional relationship to each other and hence, if the rotational angle .alpha. is calculated from the terminal voltage u and the supplied current j to the electric motor, the steering angle of the wheel can be found. Thus, a steering angle detector can be eliminated.

    摘要: A cable-type steering device for controlling operation of a power-steering motor in accordance with the tension on stranded metal wire cables which connect a vehicle steering wheel to a steering gearbox. Tensions of the cables are detected by contact with an arm of a potentiometer. The surfaces of the cables are smoothed by a swaging treatment or resin coating treatment to prevent undesirable vibrations of the arm of the potentiometer and improve the detection accuracy of the potentiometer. The smoothing treatment eliminates undesirable vibration which might otherwise occur due to irregularity of the surface of untreated stranded metal wire cable.

    摘要: In an optical head apparatus for recording or reproducing information onto or from an optical disc, a carriage is movable along a guide shaft extending in a direction parallel with the radial direction of the optical disc, and an armature is mounted on the carriage so that it can rotate about a pivotal axis perpendicular to the surface of the optical disc. An objective lens is fixed to the armature and positioned to traverse the tracks on the optical disc when the armature rotates. Guide yokes extend in parallel with the guide shaft. Tracking and carriage-servo coils are fixed to the armature and have a hollow through which the guide yokes loosely extend. A magnetic field means creates magnetic lines of force perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the guide yokes and parallel with the surface of the optical disc. A drive circuit supplies currents to the tracking and carriage-servo coils in such directions as to produce electromagnetic forces in parallel with each other thereby driving the armature along the guide yokes or in such directions as to produce electromagnetic forces in antiparallel with each other to rotate the armature about the pivotal axis.
