摘要： An ink jet head for discharging ink comprises a plurality of elemental substrates having a plurality of discharge energy generating elements arranged in line for discharging ink, a grooved member having a plurality of walls joined with the plurality of elemental substrates arranged to constitute ink paths for each of the discharge energy generating elements, these ink paths being formed by joining the walls of the grooved member under pressure with the plurality of elemental substrates thus arranged, and among the plurality of walls, a plurality of ribs formed on the bottom of each wall arranged on each boundary between elemental substrates, and configured along this boundary line to abut upon each of different elemental substrates, respectively. In this way, any gaps and steps existing between the elemental substrates are sealed by the ribs formed for the walls of the grooved member when this member is joined with the elemental substrates under pressure, thus preventing any ink leakage from such gaps or steps, and also, suppressing the pressure wave cross talk between ink paths in order to perform recording in good condition.

摘要： An ink jet recording head includes an element substrate; a plurality of ejection outlets, provided on the element substrate, for ejecting ink in a direction perpendicular to the element substrate; and a nozzle formation member having a plurality of ink flow paths which are in fluid communication with the ejection outlets, respectively. The ink flow paths are arranged at a density higher than 1200 dpi in an arranging direction of the ejection outlets and widths of flow passage walls forming the ink flow paths are smaller than heights of the ink flow paths and are smaller than widths of the ink flow paths.

摘要： A joint member is made of an elastic member whose cross sectional shape is an almost M-character shape and which has: an inserting portion formed with an opening portion and a slit; an outer edge portion as an outer peripheral portion of the joint member; and a supporting fixing portion for coupling the inserting portion and the outer edge portion on the upper portion side. A cross sectional shape of an opening of the opening portion is a shape of a circular cone frustum in which the opening and a bottom surface are coupled via an inclined surface. The slit is formed in the rectangular bottom surface. The joint member is sandwiched between a casing and a pressing plate. The inserting portion and the supporting fixing portion exist in planes which are different in the inserting direction of a liquid supply needle.

The wall material is patterned to form the liquid flow path walls and the liquid supply ports altogether, and removing the second gap formation member, hence making it easier to form the side stopper that supports the movable member stably in a state where the displacement of the movable member is regulated to close the liquid supply port, as well as the minute gap between the movable member and the side stopper in higher precision.

摘要： A liquid discharging method for a liquid discharge head having a plurality of discharge ports and a plurality of liquid flow paths communicated always with each of the discharge ports at one end, each having a bubble generating area, a bubble generating unit, a plurality of liquid supply ports, and a movable member supported with a minute gap to the liquid supply port on the liquid flow path side, and provided with a free end. The area of the movable member is surrounded at least by the free end portion and both sides continued therefrom are made larger than the opening area of the liquid supply port facing the liquid flow path. A period for the movable member is set to close and essentially cut off the opening area during the period from the application of the driving voltage to the bubble generating unit.
